The Other John

Perhaps twighlite is right. One never knows. Perhaps someone just did take over john titor after the original person left for whatever reason. Someone who knew enough info to pass..but not everything. I wonder about the whole thing myself. A lot makes no sense to me at all.
 
Something that urks me every time I hear someone pronounce John's last name: It seems to me, the name "TITOR" is being mispronounced.

<font color="brown">John's writings about his name indicate that it should be pronounced T-I-TOR (with an 'I' sound). But everyone pronounces it T-EE-TOR, with an 'E' sound. [/COLOR]

Examples: Other words with the 'I' sound: minor, shiner, finer, higher, timer.

John clearly states that his name, TITOR, could be taken from the words "Time-Travel-OR"..."Time" standing for the 'TI' in 'TI-TOR' pronounced with the 'I' sound. I emailed Oliver Williams about this, but I never got a reply, so I don't know if he saw it.

If I'm correct about John's last name, it should be pronounced properly.
 
Hi Pamela, Where is the video on YouTube that you're refering to? I saw the one posted by a woman (the letter). Is there a video supposedly posted by JT? Could you please repost the link?

John-1's personality seemed to be very different from people in our society (in a good way).

About Y2K, yes, it was a very real problem...no matter what you were told...but it was fixed in the years and months leading up to 2000. I have a certificate of thanks from the President's Y2K Conversion Council for the 2 years of service that I contributed. We were featured in a televised special from the President's Council for our work. Those of us who worked on Y2K busted our tails to get it fixed.

I noticed whoever it was that made the video, they too pronounced the name as T-EE-TOR. I still believe it's being mispronounced (should be TI-TOR with an 'I' sound). If I'm correct, JT would have used that mispronunciation, so it could be recognized, because that pronunciation has been used by all others to date.

About his message...it's interesting for sure. Time tells all, so we shall see.
 
Some very compelling and interesting evidence to me about the John Titor encounter is what happened to those who participated in allowing JT to send their messages to themselves when he returned to 1998. (I think that's when he sent them.) Anyway, some who participated spoke of sudden changes, time shifts, etc, that they experienced or noticed. I would like to hear more accounts of those experiences if anyone who participated is willing to share.

If anyone wants to share, but not publicly, PM's are welcome.

I don't think people are willing to share anymore...but that is just my opinion. I know I'm not. I posted about it long ago and people can still read it there. I myself get sick of reading the same negative remarks to it over and over. I told the truth about it. It happened. And if people don't believe it why should I care. Their unbelief does not remove the experience from my life nor does it make it any less real. It wasn't a fun thing to go through and I think most of us just want to forget about it and PRETEND it didn't happen. I am actually sorry I was so open and freely shared everything. I actually try to explain it away myself. I don't know what the others do.
 
If you wanna know kind of what it is like to go through something like that go and rent the movie "The triangle" by bryan singer and dean devlin. Of course it was not to that extreme but similiar. The movie was made in 2005.
 
I actually rented it when I went to the video store with a bunch of other videos and when I took it back I convinced them to sell it to me because I was so amazed it was so similiar. I contacted jim (another person involved with johns email experiment)and told him to go and watch it. I watched it with my mouth opened for the most part. I have not watched it since. It sits in back of my dvd's. Its very haunting to me. I tried to contact bryan and dean to ask them where they got the idea for the movie but was not sucessful.

If this message from JT-2 is believed true, then has he left our Timeline from his visit in November 2009, or is he still here? Is there any indication of when he would have returned to his own Timeline?
 
John said there were multiple time lines, multiple universes/worlds (paraphrasing). If so, it should be possible that other Johns from close Time Lines might choose our Time Line to visit to retrieve the IBM Computer. That's what I thought of as soon as I heard of a John-2.

Oh, and it would make sense that other Johns would have different personality types.
 
Dear John, I believe you're a real Time Traveler. I believe because of the research I did, and because of dreams I've had of the future. Your postings and my dreams had many similarities. If you are real, is this what happened, will happen, or where we're headed? Did something happen after you saw your grandfather in the '70's that made our Timeline aware of and prepare for Y2K? So we averted it, but in the process, the people did not develop independence, character, self-sufficiency, awareness of rights, etc after experiencing that type of hardship? That hardship would have been a blessing, because people would have learned to stand up for their rights and learn to speak up (especially after 2000/2004 so-called elections). But Y2K didn't happen, so the people never developed that good character. Instead they became selfish and self-absorbed, always thinking about themselves, never paying attention to what's really going on within their government. Many do pay attention, but their efforts to do good and stop bad things are squelched by the rich and powerful. As a result, the people will be overtaken by the government and a new world order will be formed. Will there ever be civil unrest that leads to a civil war? Will it happen on our Timeline or not? Has too much been changed? Will the people ever wake up, or will it be when it's too late? If you ever read this I would so like to hear from you. (I believe we are in the Last Days, but perhaps a different version and outcome than many think.)

Nobody's saying 'nothing happened'. It's the interpretation of events that is the difference in view.

Let's face it. What real evidence did Titor ever provide that he was a time traveller and not just someone spinning a yarn ?

As far as pics and videos are concerned, there's absolutely nothing that some person with a little media skills could not have knocked up in a short time.

His predictions ? Well....every single one has failed.

His seeming 'open-ness'. Hmm....aren't all good con men that way ?

So...what does one ultimately have ? Just someone telling a tall tale on the net. I see absolutely nothing from Titor that would cause me to even begin to think he might be genuine.....and a heck of a lot that patently shows he is false.

Belief is a powerful thing. It can attribute to some situation more than is actually there. That, in a nutshell, is the Titor saga.........it tells us a great deal about human interactions, but absolutely nothing about time travel.
 
thats not the way i see it. people are still trying to convince others that titor was the real deal, when anyone with even half a brain can see its a hoax.
