I am from the year 2522

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

You watch TV all day - I suppose you can get a good idea of society, but, is that really what you came back for? To watch TV?

And food from the future - come on Chrono!! SO your doctor doesn't have money either? So where do you live? I mean someone must pay for something, right?

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

We came back to observe what happens and society and what better way to observe than watch tv?

She has money, she buys the newspapers.

We live in a house and we have money that was made in the future

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

You should go out, interract with people, make friends, go out and get drunk....now that would really help you to understand a lot more about life and society and I think it would do you a lot of good too...

You always seem so serious....do you ever laugh? How do you have fun? Are you married in the future? What's it like being with a woman all day long, just the 2 of you....
What if for example, she got pregnant in this time and then you went back to your time....

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

If I went out and got drunk it may alter the timeline.

I laugh at things that are funny. like the simpsons.

I go in the life simulator and have fun in my era.

I aren't married.

It feels no different being with a woman.

If she got pregnant and had my time then my girlfriend would kill me

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

I thought you said you live very close to your parents, and just a short while ago you said that your father is an officer on some sort of ship somewhere.......

And you getting this woman pregnant - wouldn't that mean that you would alter your future?

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

I might have said I was very close to my parents but I wouldn't have said I live close to them.

my father is an officer on the trinkamalee.

how would it alter my future? anyway I wouldn't get this woman pregnant.

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

The doctor is a woman. She was the doctor of the earth ship trinkamalee which my father is first officer on. After this assignment she is probably going to get her own command on a medical ship.

8 years living in our time (without spaceships) and then she gets her own command. This future of yours seems to involve giving fairly important jobs to distinctly unqualified people!! /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Reminds me of that episode from Family Guy in the apocalytic future!

Sorry Chrono, this story of yours is getting more and more ridiculous. You have to remain here for eight years but they can send sandwiches back without problems?

And you've contradicted yourself within two posts -

I don't have money. I get my food from the future.
We live in a house and we have money that was made in the future

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

She was first leutenant before she came here and now she is a first officer (commander), if she is excellent here she might get her own command.

We have a kind of pantry where we keep our food so they don't have to continue sending it.

Like I said I don't have money. The doctor has the money. I have none.

Just a little question..

Hello! We are two historians from Oxford who are rather educated in "the noble art of language history". Still, no one has to be highly educated to notice that there is something that you have "missed" in your well mixed-up little story and which we would be glad to recieve your answer about.

The question is as follows:

How do you explain that your language, the way you spell, the words and the sentences you use are exactly like ours? Hasn't the language changed even a bit in more than 500 years??? We both find that most unbelievable. So, if you don't mind giving us an explanation as to our little remark, we would be most satisfied - and many others as well, I believe.

And don't try an explanation saying that you had to learn our language to communicate with us - very few will believe that, I think.

Thank you,
/The Historians

Re: Just a little question..

I have already said that the english language hasn't changed much
To put a scientific spin on this: The mathematical probability of this being true is certainly less than 1x10^-5. In case you don't "do math", that is a very low probability. Some call this "highly improbable".

Kind Regards,

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

you are saying ""I will still exist if I die in this era and anyway it is unlikely
I will die because I have a doctor with me.""

then it make me wonder something TT , if you die in our era (just to hypothesize here)
and you still exist in your future, well I have the feeling something is wrong with the life
equation, I may be wrong but if you die before you been born you can not born ,
unless we call it or admit to call it some sort of reincarnation ...?

Our life depend of our biological human clock which is credentials to time and
we are not talking about an other dimension here but about the same line of time (the same parameter)

I know this was probably directed to Chrono, but this is what I think on that...

Hypothesizing the situation...

Say you were born on 2500 A.D. and you travel back in time in 2522 to 2004. Something happens to you before you can go back to your own time and you die in say 2007. You will have died in the past and been born in the future. No reincarnation. You are still be born once, but you will have lived at a time before you were born and died then too. It can sound confusing, but you have to think in terms of time travel and time in general.

I find experiencing history exciting and I already have a partner and 2 children at home. My partner understands that I would like to experience my dream and was very encouraging when I left but I will miss seeing my children while I am here.
.....
.....
I was transported here using a matter transporter and I will be transported back in 2012.
.....
.....
The doctor is a woman.........

Hmmm. Connect the dots. I think your "partner" was screwing around on you. You sure those kids are yours?

As like many other things that you say, if not all of them, I find the fact that language hasn't changed quite hard to believe.

You said that the majority of people speak Arabic now. Do you? If you do, then will you write something for us, and if you don't then why not?

Tell us about Asia in your time...have any major earthquakes happened in Japan? Technologically advanced as they are, have the Japanese invented time machines as well? And what about the Chinese population?

What about aeroplanes? Has someone asked about this in previous posts? Can't quite remember how people move from one country to another....

Where SciFi Serials Have Gone Before!

Hey James!

It would appear that the only "history" that our friend Chrono has studied may be serial TV show history! Thanks to a sharp eye and even sharper mind of one of my E-pals (and sometime contributor to this forum), we have the following coincidences:

1) On Chronohistorian's profile page he has the name "Brick Burkstrom" listed. The name "Brick Bradford" was the primary character of a 1948 SciFi serial of the same name. Now if that is not enough to make you say "hmmmmm....pretty close!" then try this...
2) Chronohistorian has told us a "new element" is found in his time named "Lunarium". Well isn't that a funny coincidence, because in the "Brick Bradford" SciFi serial a character named Dr. Tymak discovers a new element on a meteor, and traces its origin to the moon.....the name they give it? Yep....Lunarium!

HERE is a website that relates the story. There is also some talk about a time travel device towards the end of the article. It would also seem that parts of his story were lifted from other, more contemporary, SciFi shows...such as the holodeck concept from Star Trek: The Next Generation sounding an awful lot like Chrono's "life simulators".

So.....Mr. Chronohistorian....care to explain this one? I know! You're going to tell us that this little, mostly forgotten story is considered "high science reading" in your time because of the accuracy of its prediction of finding Lunarium! RIGHT? :D

Re: Where SciFi Serials Have Gone Before!

That's why he has to watch so much TV....to come up with more ideas as to how to answer our questions!!! But he's losing it rapidly...

I really don't know why we are all wasting so much time with him still....(including me /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif)!!!!
Are we all so bored? We could spend our time discussing more challenging and meaningful things rather than giving this guy so much importance.

Yes, I suppose we all like the thrill of putting him on the spot and trying to make him contraddict himself....

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

you are right Sarah!
why a historian from the future will stay home and
watch TV ? when he can travel in our era to studies cultures,
different ethnics, going to museums studies antiquity, consulting
ancient book, going to senate, and more
the this will be proper to his mission.

Chrono you should get a portable TV with you
(if you are already hooked on TV), but move around, I am not an
historian but if one day live organic matter can time travel, anyone
who will have this great opportunity will go around and explore.

Re: Where no man has gone before.........

If I die here I will still be born. It is not like my parents have died but if I die here I will not exist in my future but it is highly doubtful I will die.

I don't speak arabic because never bothered to learn and don't say that is weird because it isn't because half of canada in this time speak english and the other half speak french.

Everybody in my time is run by one government so the chinese will have time travel if we do.

We move from one country to another by beaming their with our matter transporter or you can use hovocars.

RainmanTime-It is a coincidence. If we found an element on the moon it would be logical to call it lunarium or something like moonarium as for the life simulator it is logical that they are going to advance in 500 years from the headsets you have now. My name, Brick is a common name in my era

Another thing that you don't know - what a surprise!!

How exactly, were you chosen as the 'best' candidate for the job?

What exactly do you know that makes you important as a time traveller?
