I read his missive and saw a President who is advised by a series of "specialists". We generally call that a dictatorship, not a democracy. About 236 years ago we in the US decided that we actually didn't want a king - a "President advised by specialists".

When it is working right I kind of like the idea of Constitutionally limited power, checks-and-balances and a republican form of government where the federal government is occassionally reminded that the people created the states and the states created the federal government - not the other way around.

 
How do we make it so that we know for sure that the Power is with the People and we govern this Nation but not just the leadership?

The democracy as we know it is not far off from a dictatorship.The best speech on the subject I have ever heard was on a comedy called the Dictator.In the end he discribes a dictatorship which oddly enough exactly what we have in place at current within democratic countries atm.Plus the president is one man and in charge.So no matter how you look at it,dictator or democracy have the same issues with government.The people are not actually in charge.The rich are.You are only as free as they make you feel.This is still a dictatorship.So in the future there probably will not be much changed aside from whom developed the most wealth will be in power.If you think i am wrong.You have more faith in the corrupt then I do. One man watching over a council with no real power aside from stopping corrupt actions but Idont think people could be trusted enough not to be bought.Get rid of money, you get rid of corruption,but once again,without means to feel successful or encouragement to make the lazy work,money is needed.So we are totally beat and stuck with an off shoot of a dictatorship

Vote for a better class of candidates and, frankly, stop voting progressive and socialist. Socialism and progressivism are never about individuals. Only the collective is important to them; individuals are self centered, greedy and a threat...and they have faces. The collective is faceless and can be defined on the spot to fit a specific perceived need of the social dictaorship.

That's the problem in America today. Yes, the President is one man. But, no, he is not in charge - at least not according to our Constitution. But in our public schools, starting at age 4, students are force fed one political party line because the teachers have been force fed the same one party political line. And they don't even realize it. They simply accepted in school the rules of socialism and progressivism as being a truth on the same level as the laws of physics. Thus they accept the President as a benevolent dictator if he is Democrat or an evil dictator if he is Republican. The message is reinforced nightly on the terresrtial broadcast major network news. Thank God for the Internet. That's changing. The face of how television news is delivered is changing. Agree with the political message or not The Blaze TV is how TV will be delivered and terrestrial ABC, NBC, CBS and minor leaguers MSNBC and CNN are doomed to failure. No one is watching their news as it is. Less so in the near future.
That's how we get the Constitution back.

 
The two main parties here in the UK are much the same. Neither really care about anyone or anything- just power and position for themselves.

They will sell their souls just to stay in Parliament.

I emailed lots of MP's over a matter some time back that concerned me.

NONE of the MP's from the two main parties gave a response, just an automated "we got your email- now we shall bin it" reply.

Members of smaller parties like the Green Party and UKIP responded with detailed answers and opinions to my fears.

I shall never ever vote for these behemoth parties ever again- they are no longer on my wavelength (nor most people's in reality).

I feel the main parties have been indoctrinated, if not brainwashed by the single most dangerous communist ploy of all time POLITICAL CORECTNESS!

They have been taken in by PC totally, as it is a very clever tool that can be used to your own advantage- trouble is, once you are sucked in to the vacuum, you don't come out.

PC: At first it was regarded as a joke- it ain't no joke now! It is a tool to control- that is all!

When that Berlin wall came down- the communists spread everywhere.

Hello, 21st century!!Obviously, no one here really has any reason to believe that someone from a further point in human civilisation would travel back in time of their own free will and announce it on the internet. Which begs the question, why am I doing it?

The Democracy we have right now is not related to the ancient concept of Democracy. It has been tampered with so that, as you all say, only the kings, princes, marqueses and dukes of this new times retain the power. Nothing has change over the last thousand years. Power had always been away from the people. Today we are given the "ample" priviledge to vote; but even that goes through marvelous computations and extraneous formulas.

However, do not look at the political parties its not their gfault. Is our own. People do not want to be free, do not want to be responsible and most certainly do not want to be involved. It has been like that since almost the very beginning. The mass has made it easy for the few to take advantage of this.

Its true its not right, but people is too conformist on their own particular states and you can listen to them arguing and cruiticizing but when ends come to meet, they simply lower their shoulders and let it be. (And please dont give me the We've been programmed that way) Its time for people to take responsibility and to start to care a little more.

Our Democarcy its just the beginning of something much more beautiful and glorious, but we have to find it.

Elimination of the two party system and division of the country into territories, each with their own President and maybe their own congress, negotiating for the good of our nation. Sounds futuristic.

 
We should move from this representative kind of democracy to a point where everyone is involved in the actual decision making. Of course to do this, we have to evolve and grow from our current states of ignorance, immaturity and self-centered positions. It might take a while but I have faith in humanity...I have to for it seems that not many do in this dangerous times.

As Bomber pointed out (boohoo for him:p ) I am not a time traveler...nonetheless I shall reply to your answers. Alien life is more abundant than what we think. However, through the millions and millions of years of evolution many appear, grow, develop and so too they died off...only to leave the space for other species. Now, this is the interesting part, at this precise moment in time humanity is rather alone in this "sector" of the galaxy. There are many other species but these are rather young for space travel as ourselves.

About your second question, there will always be a monetary unit, even if that unit is represented by a credit on some form of futuristic bank. People will not notice the difference. About machines running the future that will not happen ever, its a horrific fantasy brought about by Hephaestus' Clockwork Artificiums.

why only declare you are a time traveller over the internet?, If it were so, why not go on television, and show the world, and use whatever you use to travel through time, to prove time travel is possible, I,m sure if you were telling the truth, and proved it the whole world would be interested, I suppose though, I could say this to anyone else who makes time travel claims on this forum (or any other forum for that matter), I personally think think time travel could be possible, or at least would like it to be, but at the moment I,m sure you can understand be being skeptical, about your claim.

By the way, you dont happen to have a spare copy of grays sports alminiac do you?, Sorry couln,t resist that
