Why John Titor's trip was unlikely

Re: Why John Titor\'s trip was unlikely

I've read the JT posts a while back, so my memory may be a bit hazy, so bear with me.

If I remember correctly, JT's story revolves around an infinite number of time lines. So, technically he didn't claim to travel to the past (in the traditional sense), but claimed to travel to another time line that represents his past. If he were to jump back to his exact time line after being gone for three years, than three years will have passed on his time line. In a sense, time will go on in all time lines, but some will appear to be the past of others.

My question is if it could be possible that the earth's position could be in the same location at any given time, in all dimensional time lines? I think that this is the only possible way to travel dimensions without ending up in space somewhere. But I think that this senerio is probably unlikely. I think it makes sense to assume that in a time line representing our past would also have the earth in the same position as it was in our past.

Just another idea to debunk.

John Titor travels back in time and arrives on an alternate world line. He then changes it once more by being there. Time travel does occur in his story.

Re: Why John Titor\'s trip was unlikely

so maybe JT didn't travel here in a time machine. in fact there's no physical proof the guy was ever here. but if the stuff he said hits, then maybe he had knowledge of the future.

I find it interesting that you and others seem to want to protect his claims, even if it means altering his story. Isn't the simplest explanation the one where he just made it all up? Has anything he said came true yet?

Yup.

In specific terms, not as far as I can see. Has he been successful in some VERY broad and general predictions (guesses)? Yes. But any intelligent person could probably get a few hits if they keep their predictions vague, as the JT author did.

Predictions vague? I'd agree with that. He was vague. But 2005 is his end. Don't you think this Fraud could be foolish?

And regarding the use of singularity, yes the amazing thins it is capable of is yet to be discovered.

As a kid, I was interested in TT. Now a year aao, I saw a news article Titled "In Search of God particle" which is the LHC in CERN. If a singulatity can be created then we'd see what its capable of.

Someone announced in Jan '05 they created a sort of "dual microsingularity" at the RHIC.
