Yes, I noticed that dichotomy as well, ruthless.

While I can understand why Darby wants to be nice to him, and Pamela will simply be nice to anyone who can tell her what she wants to hear, I can also see your point, ruthless, and would like to point out that this guy is still a Haber. One must earn trust, it is not something you give to someone for no good reason. And being a Haber, unfortunately, is one strike against you in terms of believing what he says about the Titor Saga sans any corroborating evidence.

Sorry about that, my friend. I was testing to see if my Verizon IP would come through unblocked and that it showed up in the IP box. I didn't anticipate that I'd spend an hour crafting the post while editing "test". Bad idea on my part. I should have saw the results, immediately deleted the post and started fresh with the actual post.
 
darby thinks brandon was too young at the time. i do not. it depends on the perspective you are looking from, i guess.

You directed the post to Pamela - and she is actually the person who you should direct it to. Here's what you should consider and just ask her:

Brandon was 11 or 12 years old when Titor was both posting and having extensive off-the-forum email, IM and chatroom conversations with her. The question for her: is it possible, based on all of those communications, that she could be fooled by a child such that she truly believed him to be university graduate in his mid-30's?

You've read his posts. Do they sound like a 6th grader wrote them?

Sure, at one time I considered Brandon a possible candidate. But when I found out his age in 2000-2001 "possibility" was reduced to "very unlikely". This is especially so because the saga started with the 1998 faxes when he was 9 or 10 years old.

At this rate we already have Richard being married with child and owning several businesses when he was no more than 7 years old and Brandon being 9 or 10 years old when he became John Titor. There's no doubt that several members of this family are very talented and quite gifted. The only thing we've left out is having Larry graduate from law school before he completed the third grade. His law professors were probably very amused at having to serve him milk and cookies at 10:00 am and having his take a nap at noon just before his Law & Motion class.

That's not exactly what he said. He said "there is no J or John in my name". No "J" would include no "Jonathan".

The question here is how do any of us really know that his name is Jonathan? Did anyone determine that independently or did Mike Lynch and/or Razimus say that his name is Jonathan and/or John without stating their evidence to back up the assertion? For my part I can say that I haven't found any evidence independent of someone else's statement that there is a Jonathan Haber, Jonathan R Haber, Richard Jonathan Haber, John Richard Haber or any other permutation of the names that is in any way connected to Larry Haber. Even if I did find such evidence the problem would still exist that there's no evidence that's ever been presented by Razimus, Mike Lynch or anyone else that even remotely suggests that (Jonathan, John, Rick, Rich) Richard Haber wrote the posts.

What concerns me about the listing that showed John R Haber associated with the JTF PO Box is that its the wrong name. I'm no conspiracy theorist but the connection to the wrong name suggests at least the possibility that for whatever reason someone may have purposely made sure that the connection was made, i.e. the data mine was salted...but the salter unfortunately salted the wrong name because its the name that Mike Lynch erroneously used.

Disclosure: It's just a guess on my part with absolutely no evidence to support it.

i still think you are severely underestimating brandon. at this same time he was going to national political debates. thats pretty impressive for a 6th grader. as a matter of fact, i doubt he was a 6th grader. i would imagine he was skipped up a few grades. ive heard of kids graduating at 15, and it wouldnt surprise me if he was one of those kids.

this is way beyond the boundaries of a normal 6th grader, yes. but roleplaying is pretty easy once you know the part, especially if you construct a script and dont deter from it.

i sometimes think titor was politically motivated. his red-dawn inspired story sure sounded like something a child would make up with limited knowledge of things.

another fact: larry haber said on camera, "i wouldnt be surprised if brandon was titor." that tells me alot.

sanguina, malderi... where the heck does a kid come up with this stuff? i cant even find definitions!!! i know the definitions for sanguine, and malder, but i cant find the definition for sanguina or malderi. that is disturbing to me.

lets try this one out: lets say you are right. he was just a regular kid. if that was so, how could he ever get a job with nasa? if he is not an upper level genius, how does he juggle nasa, the military, the internet entertainment writers association, and still have time to be a hardcore gamer? that is alot on this young mans plate, and he seems to cope with it fine.

i hope i get a chance to talk to him one day. to be honest, i think im more of a fan of brandon, than of titor.

i have a sneaking suspicion that mister titor will be making a return soon.

I will add this as food for thought relative to Larry Haber graduating from law school before completing the 3rd grade:

According to Larry Haber's telling of the story he was contacted by the Nebraska attorney in 2003 when Momma Kate Titor was looking for a safe attorney to handle her son John's affairs and to get The Book published. The attorney was an old lost law school buddy with whom he had had no communication during the 25 years since they graduated from law school.

That was almost exactly six years ago. Larry is now 51 years old so he was ~45 years old at that time. Take away 25 years and he graduated from law school when he was ~20 years old and therefore graduated from college when he was 16-17 years old.

In theory it could happen but in reality the timeline isn't quite right.

No, he didn't skip grades. He graduated from high school with his peers when he was 17. We do have examplars of his writing style cr 2000-2001. He posted on gaming sites as Malderi. He style was typical for his age. He even got himself TOS'ed a couple of times for flaming, something that Titor never did.

But its one thing to debate on a debating team. It's something else to fool a mature adult over the course of half a year of ongoing, personal and frequent communication. Intelligence does not equate to maturity. The maturity of thought and relationships comes from both biological growth and life experience, something that is simply absent when one is 11-12 years old. Again, you need to ask Pamela about that part. As far as I know she believed herself to be communicating with a peer, someone who was reasonably close to her age at the time. I certainly believed that I was communicating with someone born in the mid to late 1950's, which is why I gave him the handle "Boomer", i.e. (late) Baby Boomer.

do you think HE was smart enough to know that? my personal opinion is yes. that is why you did not talk to (once again, in my opinion) brandon for a half year. the style of titor is easy to fall right into.

buzzmaker is very relevant to my theory. buzz-maker. thats the same thing richard haber was trying to do. thats the same thing larry was doing when he posted the trailer for the movie everywhere, making a buzz. i believe buzzmaker was richard, larry, or brandon.

i just dont see larry doing it. he is a smart guy, but not that smart. i can see richard doing it. as a matter of fact, i bet reactor and richard would make a helluva team.

but brandon... i know he was a part of it.

Out of curiosity, Ruthless, then "who" is sitting in the passenger seat of the Corvette in the laser light bending photo ?

Obviously, whomever is holding the laser and the cigar is not a child. I would imagine that whomever IS holding the laser and cigar in that particular photo is at least one of the player's in the Titor Saga.

thats understandable. i just found it strange that after i reread all of the postings, i had noticed richard haber changed a few things, and then i found that post you edited. i study this stuff and memorize everything everyone says (including me) like it were a college exam.

the "if you cant beat 'em, hoin 'em" philosophy doesent suit me well. it is hard to be honest when there is so much deception around me. thats the story of my life. i have always laid my hand on the table for all to see. everyone around me, since birth, has decided to keep their hands out of view, or at least thats what they think they are doing.

the great thing is, for 28 years i have had a shine in my eyes, and i believe it will always be that way. i get discouraged, but i never fall to the dark side.

why do i say this? there is a chance it will motivate and uplift others. i am in the business of helping, not hindering. i am sure you are too, but you do have an ace up your sleeve for emergency purposes.

no, that is a legal way to avoid the question. his name is not j, and his name is not john.

if his name is not jonathan, does he have another brother? is his fathers name john rick haber? could this also be why richard did not want to be called rick?

if all of the answers are no, where did the name come from on that site?

also, this is something he edited after the fact. he went back and reworded it.

Come on, Ruthless. Over a DOA 10 year old Internet hoax you're adking me how to best contact every member of Larry Haber's graduating law school class? What's the purpose of that? Does it even make common sense to randomly harass several dozen more people, all of whom are attorneys BTW, who have absolutely nothing to do with any of this? If you weren't a part of this or a like forum, had no particular interest in alt-sci silliness and received an inquiry from someone who sounds like an Internet nutcase asking you about a time travel story and basically accusing you, your friend and/or client of being a wannabe time traveler (and that's about how it would sound to 99% of the population) would you answer all the questions or would you, first, ignore them, second if it continued, tell them to go away and third, if they can't take a hint contact the FBI Internet Crime Division because you think that the nutcase might be dangerous? The vast majority of people would go the latter route.

It's your call. If you want to harass his former classmates on the chance that the "other" attorney will suddenly violate attorney-client privilege and confess it all to you...well...have fun. But I won't be giving any advice as to how to do any of that, my friend. This is entertainment...it is not national security.

I tossed out the hint to you: the timeline is wrong because there is no "other" attorney in Nebraska. It's just Larry Haber. When he made up that part of the story he simply goofed up the timeline.

Disclosure: Just an opinion about there being no other attorney.
