Here Titor is saying that “destabilization of the West†is a result of “degrading US foreign policy and consistency†and “this (degrading US foreign policy and consistency) becomes apparent around 2004. He does not say “destabilization of the West becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest in the USA develops near the next presidential election.â€
Maybe Titor is saying “Real disruptions in world events begin with degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This, degrading US foreign policy and consistency, becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next USA presidential election.†The insurgency battle in Iraq began in earnest when USA forces invaded Fallujah just days after the 2004 USA presidential election.
Titor also said, “The civil war in the United States will start in 2004.†He also says “In my 2012, I was 14 years old spending most of my time living, running and hiding in the woods and rivers of central Florida. The civil war was in its
7th year and the world war was three years away.†2012 – seven years = 2005. I have no explanation for these discrepancies.
Maybe some other event causes a collapse of western stability. An eruption of Yellowstone could be the “trigger†event in John Titor’s prediction of a future USA civil war of city versus country that leads to the collapse of western stability in 2005 and WWIII in 2015. Certainly an eruption at Yellowstone would fit that scenario. A super-volcano eruption at Yellowstone would immediately wipe out the productive capacity of the breadbasket of the USA for decades, or longer. And it would likely interrupt the growing season on a global scale for several years. Maybe Titor’s USA civil war between the cities and the non-cities started as a fight over limited resources after a Yellowstone eruption.
A poster asked Titor which states were the safest. He said: “Take a close look at the county by county voting map from the last elections.†I initially thought that John was referring to the map to show that cities would not be safe during the 2015 nuclear war. However, he said explicitly that the cities would not be safe. “In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States.†And when asked “Were only cities along the Eastern Sea port hit in the Nuclear War, or all over the country?†Titor responds “Mostly cities and large military areas in the entire country. “ Why would he also refer to the map to say the same thing?
Still others have suggested that Titor was referring to the map showing hurricanes only effecting counties in Florida that voted for Bush in 2000. That map, it turns out, is a fake.
There could be another reason to refer to the county-by-county map of the 2000 USA presidential election. If you overlay a map of the ash zone from the last Yellowstone super-volcano eruption on the county-by-county voting map from the 2000 presidential election you see that the ash zone covers mostly “red†counties. Not exactly, but close. Surely a best fit if one were trying to encircle the most number of people in “red†counties and the least in “blue†counties.

Why didn’t John Titor just say, “Yellowstone will erupt in 2005 and western stability collapses soon after.â€
Because he said “I have decided not to discuss events that you or I can do anything about.â€
Also, he said “I will not disclose any detailed information that would allow someone to avoid death by probability. This means no earthquake or bombing information.â€
To the question “Do you have an increase in tornados and earthquakes than what we have now?†he said, “That's one area I've decided not to talk aboutâ€
So Titor must have been vague in what he said about some aspects of the future. An eruption in Yellowstone certainly fits the description of information he said he would not disclose.
Finally, "Yellowstone" was the code name for IBM's new revolutionary computer, the IBM 5110. The IBM 5110 was the successor to the IBM 5100.

Titor’s was picked to time travel based partly on the fact that his grandfather was a key figure in the development of the IBM 5100. “Depending on the mission, time travelers are usually chosen for a particular mission based on their ability to gain the cooperation of someone related to the goal on the target worldline. In my case, my grandfather was directly involved with the building and programming of the 5100.â€
So Titor’s mission was to time travel to 1975, make contact with his grandfather, get his grandfather to “tweak†a 5100, and take the 5100 back to 2036.
Instead, Titor made a side trip to 2000 “because of a promise to my grandfather in 1975….. I am trying to prepare them (Titor’s parents) for the future as a promise to my grandfather in 1975.â€
The next model after the 5100 was the 5110, code named “Yellowstone.â€
Why did Titor's grandfather want Titor to go to the future to prepare his family? Why not wait and prepare them himself? Unless of course he was not going to be alive then.

On August 10, 2003 the Denver Post reported that Liz Morgan, a U.S. Geological Survey research geologist had discovered a huge bulge underneath Yellowstone Lake that had risen 100 feet from the lake floor. The bulge is two thousand feet long and has the potential to explode at any time. Morgan was quoted as saying that "The inflated plain is a potential and serious hazard and possible precursor to a large hydrothermal explosion event."
“The area that would be affected is the bread basket of North America in effect and it produces an enormous amount of grain on a global scale really. That's the problem and you would see nothing. The harvest would vanish virtually overnight.†Professor Bill McGuire, of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College, London.
Then, on August 24, 2003 The University of Utah Seismograph Station reported that a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred just 9 miles southeast of the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. USGS scientists agreed that the earthquake was "uncommon" in that it was a very shallow earthquake, occurring just 0.3 miles below the surface.
This worrying situation was confirmed on September 8, 2003 by Dr. Bruce Cornet, a geologist and paleobotanist with the USGS, who explained: "Steam pressure is apparently building again in Yellowstone, and hydrothermal fluids and steam are working their way up through fractures and vents. If more steam vents appear, that means a continuous pathway for pressure release has been established to the magma chamber. If that happens, the pressure in the magma chamber will continue to drop until it reaches a critical stage when the superheated water within the magma explodes. Unfortunately, as the steam venting subsides, there will be a false sense of security. People will think it was just another cyclical event, and the danger is over. But that will be the farthest from the truth. It will be the quiet before the storm."
Yellowstone has become quiet again. Is the danger over or is this the quiet before the storm? All the experts say publicly that the danger is over.
