New John Titor Interpretation

MEM

Quantum Scribe
John Titor predicted many events including the collapse of western stability in 2005 and WWIII in 2015.

What event causes western stability to collapse in 2005? Many, including myself, interpreted Titor to mean that civil unrest would start with fighting over the results of the 2004 presidential election and that would be the start of the civil war that leads to the collapse of western stability in 2005.

When asked “Does the events happening in the Middle east concerning the Arabs and Jews have anything to do with the coming war?”

John answers, “Real disruptions in world events begin with the destabilization of the West as a result of degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election.”

Here Titor is saying that “destabilization of the West” is a result of “degrading US foreign policy and consistency” and “this (degrading US foreign policy and consistency) becomes apparent around 2004. He does not say “destabilization of the West becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest in the USA develops near the next presidential election.”

Maybe Titor is saying “Real disruptions in world events begin with degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This, degrading US foreign policy and consistency, becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next USA presidential election.” The insurgency battle in Iraq began in earnest when USA forces invaded Fallujah just days after the 2004 USA presidential election.

Titor also said, “The civil war in the United States will start in 2004.” He also says “In my 2012, I was 14 years old spending most of my time living, running and hiding in the woods and rivers of central Florida. The civil war was in its
7th year and the world war was three years away.” 2012 – seven years = 2005. I have no explanation for these discrepancies.

Maybe some other event causes a collapse of western stability. An eruption of Yellowstone could be the “trigger” event in John Titor’s prediction of a future USA civil war of city versus country that leads to the collapse of western stability in 2005 and WWIII in 2015. Certainly an eruption at Yellowstone would fit that scenario. A super-volcano eruption at Yellowstone would immediately wipe out the productive capacity of the breadbasket of the USA for decades, or longer. And it would likely interrupt the growing season on a global scale for several years. Maybe Titor’s USA civil war between the cities and the non-cities started as a fight over limited resources after a Yellowstone eruption.

A poster asked Titor which states were the safest. He said: “Take a close look at the county by county voting map from the last elections.” I initially thought that John was referring to the map to show that cities would not be safe during the 2015 nuclear war. However, he said explicitly that the cities would not be safe. “In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States.” And when asked “Were only cities along the Eastern Sea port hit in the Nuclear War, or all over the country?” Titor responds “Mostly cities and large military areas in the entire country. “ Why would he also refer to the map to say the same thing?

Still others have suggested that Titor was referring to the map showing hurricanes only effecting counties in Florida that voted for Bush in 2000. That map, it turns out, is a fake.

There could be another reason to refer to the county-by-county map of the 2000 USA presidential election. If you overlay a map of the ash zone from the last Yellowstone super-volcano eruption on the county-by-county voting map from the 2000 presidential election you see that the ash zone covers mostly “red” counties. Not exactly, but close. Surely a best fit if one were trying to encircle the most number of people in “red” counties and the least in “blue” counties.

See: http://www.ttrader.com/mycharts/display.php?p=29486&u=memoff&a=Memoff&id=481

Why didn’t John Titor just say, “Yellowstone will erupt in 2005 and western stability collapses soon after.”

Because he said “I have decided not to discuss events that you or I can do anything about.”

Also, he said “I will not disclose any detailed information that would allow someone to avoid death by probability. This means no earthquake or bombing information.”

To the question “Do you have an increase in tornados and earthquakes than what we have now?” he said, “That's one area I've decided not to talk about”

So Titor must have been vague in what he said about some aspects of the future. An eruption in Yellowstone certainly fits the description of information he said he would not disclose.

Finally, "Yellowstone" was the code name for IBM's new revolutionary computer, the IBM 5110. The IBM 5110 was the successor to the IBM 5100.

See: http://www.old-computers.com/history/detail.asp?n=9&t=3

Titor’s mission was to time travel from 2036 to 1975 and retrieve an IBM 5100 computer. The “5100 series is capable of reading all the IBM code written before the widespread use of APL and Basic…..In order to take advantage of this feature, the 5100 I have now required a couple of special “tweaks” that had to be done by one of the software engineers in 1975.”

Titor’s was picked to time travel based partly on the fact that his grandfather was a key figure in the development of the IBM 5100. “Depending on the mission, time travelers are usually chosen for a particular mission based on their ability to gain the cooperation of someone related to the goal on the target worldline. In my case, my grandfather was directly involved with the building and programming of the 5100.”

So Titor’s mission was to time travel to 1975, make contact with his grandfather, get his grandfather to “tweak” a 5100, and take the 5100 back to 2036.

Instead, Titor made a side trip to 2000 “because of a promise to my grandfather in 1975….. I am trying to prepare them (Titor’s parents) for the future as a promise to my grandfather in 1975.”

The next model after the 5100 was the 5110, code named “Yellowstone.”

Why did Titor's grandfather want Titor to go to the future to prepare his family? Why not wait and prepare them himself? Unless of course he was not going to be alive then.

Yellowstone

On August 10, 2003 the Denver Post reported that Liz Morgan, a U.S. Geological Survey research geologist had discovered a huge bulge underneath Yellowstone Lake that had risen 100 feet from the lake floor. The bulge is two thousand feet long and has the potential to explode at any time. Morgan was quoted as saying that "The inflated plain is a potential and serious hazard and possible precursor to a large hydrothermal explosion event."

“The area that would be affected is the bread basket of North America in effect and it produces an enormous amount of grain on a global scale really. That's the problem and you would see nothing. The harvest would vanish virtually overnight.” Professor Bill McGuire, of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College, London.

Then, on August 24, 2003 The University of Utah Seismograph Station reported that a magnitude 4.4 earthquake occurred just 9 miles southeast of the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. USGS scientists agreed that the earthquake was "uncommon" in that it was a very shallow earthquake, occurring just 0.3 miles below the surface.

This worrying situation was confirmed on September 8, 2003 by Dr. Bruce Cornet, a geologist and paleobotanist with the USGS, who explained: "Steam pressure is apparently building again in Yellowstone, and hydrothermal fluids and steam are working their way up through fractures and vents. If more steam vents appear, that means a continuous pathway for pressure release has been established to the magma chamber. If that happens, the pressure in the magma chamber will continue to drop until it reaches a critical stage when the superheated water within the magma explodes. Unfortunately, as the steam venting subsides, there will be a false sense of security. People will think it was just another cyclical event, and the danger is over. But that will be the farthest from the truth. It will be the quiet before the storm."

Yellowstone has become quiet again. Is the danger over or is this the quiet before the storm? All the experts say publicly that the danger is over.

Titor's grandfather?

http://www.thocp.net/biographies/estridge_don.html

How come Titor's grandfather wanted him to go to 2000 and prepare his family?
Why didn't the grandfather just wait until the year 2000 and prepare his family himself?

Unless of course he died between 1975 and 2000 then he couldn't.

Note Don and his wife were killed in a tragic plane crash in Dallas in 1985.

Don Estridge had three children. Married in 1958. Youngest would have been born around 1965. That means if she was Titor's mother then she would have been about 33.

Anyone care to check if Sandra Marie Estridge (maiden name) had a child, male, born in Florida in 1998?

Ok so the whole entire point of what you said is you are predicting yellowstone will blow up. We have not had a super-volcanic event in something like 200,000-600,000 years. Yellowstone is a likely place in the US, in fact probably the most likely in the US, but not in the world. Also, the geisers in yellowstone are a great predictor of events to come in the park, they have not been disrupted. Please also note that I always have a knack for knowing where something will happen, and yellowstone is not one of those places. Months ago when I looked up Sri Lanka because I couldn't get the damn word out of my head, made me realize there are certain signs before events like this. Yellowstone is one of the most scientifically studied areas on the planet with hundreds of sensors to detect just such an event. If it were to happen there Would be a warning, months, possibly years ahead.

I just doubt its yellowstone, if you want to know what I think causes the instability, I think we're looking at another type massive event, a manmade event not the natural kind. Although, anything is possible so I'll keep it in mind. And if yellowstone blows up you're my new favorite friend.

"If it were to happen there Would be a warning, months, possibly years ahead."

Maybe. We really don't know about super-volcanoes.

5110 = yellowstone? Scary man.

This RAP song comes to mind.

Mixing up Titor with Nostradamus is foolish and leads to foolish things like imagining that Yellowstone's going to blow to cause a civil war. Titor was very clear that the civil war would occur in response to police state tactics.

You might as well mix in Biblical prophecy and reading chicken's entrails too if you're going to drag in that Nostradamus nonsense.

IMO.

Remember that starvation is a tool of the elite. It's easy to starve people in nations far far away and call it dimplomacy. Try that with someone who lives down the street.

Yellowstone blows, massive unemployment, poverty, hunger (well unless you are a rich city slicker). The "peasants" who flock to the city to get close to money make all the "richies" start to panic and voila, instant police state.

Q: Join the police force and fire on a crowd to get your next meal? Or move to the country and try to feed yourself?

I dunno, but it's scary stuff. I feel like I should warn people but they'll just laugh.

When I heard about the faxes that Mr. Art Bell had from 1998 I thought he sounded pretty sarcastic and he was making fun of how dumb we were for mentioning y2k 80 times a day leading up to 2000. So maybe the unix bug was his joke on us as well and he used the "tweaked" 5110 to drop a hint to someone.

There's also a linux distro called Caldera. It would have the same "bug" that would allegedly require a time traveler to retrieve an old computer to solve - the storage medium 5100's used lasts that long? Floppies/tape or whatever degrade pretty fast.

I can get a playstation ii emmulator for my PC I'm sure someone can figure out how to make a 5100 emmulator if it was needed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCO_Group

Caldera Systems, based in Utah, was founded in 1994 by Ransom Love, and received start-up funding from Ray Noorda. Its main product was Caldera Linux, a Linux distribution mainly targeted at business customers and containing some proprietary additions.

In 2000, Caldera acquired several UNIX properties from the Santa Cruz Operation, including OpenServer and UnixWare, proprietary operating systems for PCs that would be expected to compete directly with Linux.

In 2002, Caldera joined with SuSE Linux, Turbolinux and Conectiva to form United Linux in an attempt to standardize Linux distributions. Later that year, CEO Ransom Love left the company and was replaced by Darl McBride.

Caldera changed its name to The SCO Group that year.

In 2003, the company asserted some of its products had been accidentally released into Linux by IBM in a breach of contract.

So as I understand it, the guys who now own UNIX claim IBM released some unix code into the Linux world. They want everyone who runs linux to pay them royalties. Ha. Dirty stuff.

Anyway, the 2038 bug seem wonky to me because :

http://www.gsp.com/2038/
Our 32-bit root servers currently use the FreeBSD 4.7 operating system. As with all Unix and Unix-like operating systems, time and dates in FreeBSD are represented internally as the number of seconds since the UNIX Epoch, which was the 1st of January 1970 GMT.

32-bit systems can only store a maximum of 231 non-negative seconds (2,147,483,648 seconds or about 68 years). Which means that 32-bit UNIX systems won't be able to process time beyond 19 Jan 2038 at 3:14:07 AM GMT.

One of the common solutions will be to switch to 64-bit architecture systems that can store a maximium of 263 non-negative seconds (9,223,372,036,854,775,808 [9.2 Quintillion] seconds or about 292.27 Billion years), which is about 22 times the estimated age of our universe!

For the curious: A switch to 128-bit architecture systems would yield a maximum of 2127 non-negative seconds (170,141,183,460,469,231,731,687,303,715,884,105,728 [170 Undecillion] seconds), or about 18.4 Quintillion times as many as 64-bit systems.

64 bit processors were around the corner when I read the story. AMD now makes one. I think Intel either has one already or will very soon. So this bug wouldn't be very hard to fix. PERHAPS he would need to travel back and get some SOURCE CODE so it could be recompiled to use a larger integer? I don't think so because someone could write a linux distro to trick 32 bit apps to use 64 bits in place of 32 bit integers. Any hard coded pointer arithmetic or out of bounds checks that couldn't be handled by the kernel could be fixed in a short enough time by someone who knew their binaries or dissasemblers.

I will take any compiled messages and email addressees you provide and send them on the net when I get to 1998.

Granted, this will not affect you on your worldline now but you make take some comfort that another "you" on another worldline has the advantage of knowing something you wish you knew three years ago.

Didn't he explain to his grandfather the worldline problem? If he traveled to this time to carry out a promise, it would be a different worldline. There would be no point.

Getting back to my "proper" universe is tricky but possible. Yes, another jump would take me to a different family.

He talked about his wife a lot. Maybe he loved her so much that he was going from worldline to worldline to find one that was single so he could bring her back with him.

In fact, I have stated before, there are many people in 2036 who do not believe in time travel.

Wouldn't comming back with "items" be proof enough?

POSTER:The fact that he said he could not complete a 0 divergent trip meant that he could not return to his timeline and a mission into the past to help his people is logically flawed.

JT:I thought we went over that to your satisfaction? Doesn't everyone know after looking at a Penrose for a Kerr singularity that you have to travel faster than light to get to the "exact" same worldline?

I can see your not amused that we would be confused as the same person. I did find it flattering. I think you find some of the physics questions we're dealing with on other sites quite interesting...perhaps even convincing.

Or maybe it's a 1 shot dealy. Maybe there are people in Europe in '38 who sell a service that lets you leave your time forever and go to the past as long as you promise not to reveal the truth about upcomming events. Maybe the black holes lose their power after a 1 trip or the xrays render the unit unusable after it's switched off.

...and he met his wife or some other girl here and he promised her he would do everything ethical to warn us about yellowstone and that's why he made up a story and started posting.

Maybe he had to give himself a couple years head start so he could win her over in time so she wouldn't go to Iraq.

After the war, my father made a living selling oranges up and down the West coast of Florida.

02-02-2001 11:41 AM
My father made a living by putting together 12-volt electrical systems and sailing "commodities" up and down the coast of Florida. I spent most of my time helping him.

Goes from oranges to "commodities". Oranges are commodities? Huh...

How do most people die during the war?

In this order: Starvation - Disease - Bullet Wounds - Radiation.

A long civil war and nukes. Yet starvation kills more people than radiation, disease more than bullets??

Newbie_0,

You are too smart to be a newb, why don't you give yourself a better name. Caldera is not the only type of Linux, all Unix systems have this bug with the exception of the ones that have been recompiled to work with 64 bit cpu's from AMD. x86-64.org has some interesting info for ya. I'm a big follower of AMD.

Intel does indeed have a 64 bit chip, called the Itanium, it failed and has been pretty much dropped, they also announced a 64 bit extension that should be compatible with what AMD has done. None of it matters right now unless you're running a 64 bit distro of linux, or the Windows 64 beta. I believe by mid year there should be an official 64 bit OS from Windows available to the public. You have to understand its not really the Code you write to take advantage of 64 bits, its the Compiler that is the important piece of the puzzle.

I think oranges are commodities, they are traded on the stock exchange so why not.

"Didn't he explain to his grandfather the worldline problem? If he traveled to this time to carry out a promise, it would be a different worldline. There would be no point."

As Titor wrote, if he went forward on a worldline that worldline would split when he arrived. One wordline would be the worldline he was on but did not arrive in the future and the other where he did. So if Titor went from 1975 to 2000 then his grandfather would remember him visiting in 1975. Not the case if he went backward in time.

Therefore if Titor went forward to 2000 then it would help Titor's grandfather's family, really Titor's mother and father, from his grandfather's perspective, not Titor's original worldline.

The question is why didn't Titor's grandfather prepare his family himself? Maybe because Titor knew that his grandfather would die between 1975 and 2000.

Ren, I'm was trying to mimic JT with newbie_0. Am I a Newbie 0r not? But with a zero. I am a newb I just use wikipedia a lot.

I think oranges are commodities, they are traded on the stock exchange so why not.

Yea, I guess oranges are synomous with commodities. I think the reason that stood out was because he mentioned they raised their own food. I imaged them trading 10 oranges for a chicken, moving on to the next farm, 5 oranges for 5 potatoes. I guess their still commodities that way too haha /ttiforum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The SCO group owns whats left of the copyright on UNIX now which is what I thought was interesting. (formally known as Caldera Systems, their linux distro called Caldera is under the SCO umbrella) JT kept saying UNIX but IMO, I would have thought linux would be dominant. Linux could easily mount a UNIX filesystem. Or emmulate enough to run their binaries. Little kids can download linux whenever they want and start learning. The SCO group resorts to trying to collect royalties by claiming Linux has some unix code. They basically said themselves, why buy unix when it's in linux and it's free.

In the late 1960s, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AT&T Bell Labs, and General Electric worked on an experimental operating system called Multics (Multiplexed Information and Computing System)
...
Thompson and Ritchie led a team of developers, including Rudd Canaday, at Bell Labs developing a file system as well as the new multi-tasking operating system itself. They included a command interpreter and some small utility programs as well. This project was called UNICS, short for Uniplexed Information and Computing System, because it could support two simultaneous users. The name has been attributed to Brian Kernighan, and was a hack on Multics. Following bad puns of UNICS (homophone of eunuchs) being a castrated MULTICS, the name was later changed to UNIX, and thus a legacy was born

...

In 2000, the Santa Cruz Operation sold its entire UNIX business and assets to Caldera Systems, which later on changed its name to The SCO Group. This new player then started a huge legal campaign against various users and vendors of Linux. The SCO Group has offered various legal theories over the course of several cases. Some of these allege that Linux contains copyrighted Unix code now owned by The SCO Group. Others allege trade-secret violations by IBM, or contract violations by former Santa Cruz customers who since converted to Linux. The most far reaching theory is that development work that IBM did for AIX is considered a derivative work and therefore also owned by SCO.

greedy.

And you said 64 bit processors are already here yet JT said :

(54) I will tell you that processor speed and memory size take dramatic leaps forward.

A dramatic leap from 64 might be 1024 bit? 256 bit at least man...

If his information traveling faster than light experiment was telling us about yellowstone I guess we find out this year.

Mem,

The question is why didn't Titor's grandfather prepare his family himself? Maybe because Titor knew that his grandfather would die between 1975 and 2000.

Wouldn't the grandfather still have 25 years to prepare his family? Wouldn't his family listen to his grandfather about yellowstone before they listened to some stranger that looked sorta like them but couldn't really prove he was from the future?

What if he and his wife died in 1985 when his children were in their late teens and he had to prepare them for something that would happen in twenty years.

Could that be a reason?

???????????

I dunno but I hope Art Bell does a show on volcanoes /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
