I'm sorry but it makes absolutely no sense that an advanced society that has time travel has no information about the relative recent past (150 years prior to 2072).

Time travel capability aside, you should have a fairly clear history of the period 2003-2027. We have a fairly clear and complete history of the 1870's which is 150 years in our past. Did all of Earth's inhabitants take 150 year duration sleeping pills in 2028 and play Rip van Winkle until 2054?

BTW: It's really not necessary to clarify that a time machine can travel through time and space. The mathematics makes in clear that the vehicle would travel through spacetime (4D Minkowski Spacetime). That was one of the big failures in the Titor/TTO Saga when he claimed his gadget couldn't travel through space. He limited time travel to one dimension without even considering what Minkowski and Einstein had concluded 100 years ago.
