Can I help it if a person uses the same phrases, descriptions, epithets, etc. on multiple "I am from..." threads on multiple boards? That's precisely how I ended up looking at Finchduck's thread. A member on my board pointed it out for me and directed my attention to the fact that it looked a lot like the About.com thread.

The members of this community are all big boys and girls, have an education, can walk on their own two feet and can make up their own minds about the subject at hand. Because this is a written form of communication and not spoken, I have no ability to shout above the other voices. If one has no desire to "listen" to one of my missives one only needs to see the tag line with my name on it and refuse to read it. They can most certainly choose not to respond to it.

Yes I see your point.
But one can also take that same attitude and apply it to society. As I am sure some would much rather turn their heads and ignore the problems of the world, then to do something about it. That doesn’t solve anything. It doesn’t make it go away. And as our values and morals come spiraling down, with teens doing drugs and doing risky behaviors, to people cheating on their mates and doing whatever feels good or selling them selves for money, we really don’t see a campaign to try and change our culture into something better.
But we see the opposite; we see the efforts from its celebrity role models to liberate it to accept all of this immorality. “Sex sells,†is the motto, and I’d give anything if I can get on T.V. (like ABC’s Politically Incorrect) and debate with these people who manage to put a clever spin on freedom of speech and expression to allow them to do obscene things. I’d tell them a thing or two
.
Just because you have the right to do something, doesn’t mean you should if it’s not a good idea. For if you were aware of its consequences, would you? Even at the sake of the damage it would do, would the ends justify the means?
