A Discovered Time Traveler

the idea that things as seemingly revolutionary as synthetic organs (pocket-sized super computers from the persepective of 100 years ago which is a cheap reality today) and lots of other technologies makes one wonder, ... God help us if time travel technology every becomes even remotely that commonplace. I have a friend who is a visionary type and he thinks that someday time travel may be that readily available. Even if only a few countries possess it, as with nuclear bombs today, think of the ramifications.

I think it kinda funny how far we have advanced in such a short time. I am part of Generation Z, I grew up with consumer computers. Even to me it seems so amazing. When I was five, we had a Mac in our living room. I used to play games like mine sweeper on it. I got a gameboy color at 10. I played Pokemon Crystal on it lol. I was a bit late getting into games. After that I got into the PS2. I could go on, but my point is, In less than 20 years we have gone from 8-bit games to 4k 3D games. I got my first smart phone at 14, it was an iPhone 3gs. Every year they release a new one that has twice the power as the previous one. I am in college now and I have a phone that has 4x the processing power of that big Mac I played minesweeper on. I use my phone for everything. I absolutely can't live without it. I am now primarily a PC gammer, but my phone is my computer when I'm away from my computer. This is all a bit off topic but I believe that with the way computers are accerating that in a few hundred years we may even have computers that predict the future. Like the weather. Even if we never figure out how to time travel, I think that being able to see the future is the next best thing.

Lol 18, I was late getting into things like Pokemon. I had a GB color when everyone else had GBA's. After I got into it I bought a GBA and eventually a DS. The only system I have bought launch day was the 3DS. Now I don't play much other than PC games. The only exception is Project Diva on my Vita of course lol.

Hatsune, that's interesting to hear you say that. Consider what the current rate of technology looks like to my generation! I was born in 1961. My parents had both been uniformed participants in WW2 . The old Victorian house I was born in did not have an inside toilet and the bath was a tin tub mother put in front of the coal fire.
Moving on a bit, we did not have a TV until about 1968 (black and white). TV programs were only broadcast for a few hours a day anyway. We had our first telephone about 1970, but only Dad was allowed to touch it.! (Like it was dangerous or something....)

I do remember the first gameing consoles and personal computers coming out sometime around 1977-78. One of my elder brothers had one . About the only game it could handle was "Stomp The Fly" which was basically trying to chase down a big green spot that moved around the screen. It frequently crashed.

I remember the first mobile phones that were the size of cereal boxes. If you hold a box of frosties to the side of your head you will get the idea.

A lot of this computer technology just passed me by unfortunately. I was never very into it.

I got my first computer and clunky monitor given to me for free about 1995....it was a 286 which was something to do with the processing power and it was already obselete....I got a dial up modem which was always going down. This was before broadband. There was often a wait of minutes to see a document or photograph appear, if it didn't stop half-way through for some reason.

We have indeed come a long way.

Lol, I couldn't live in that time! :) Its funny how telephones where at first considered a luxury now they are a necessity. Computers are becoming that way too! With the way technology is going I can't wait to see how it will be when I'm your age. In that since we all are kinda time travelers. Thank you for sharing this. :3

 
I haven't read the whole thread, but it appears that this whole community ascribes unreasonable amounts of confidence in memories.

When things like brainwashing, cognitive dissociation, organic delusion, and hypnosis exist and are scientifically provable, there is NO REASON to ascribe rational origins to irrational memories.
