Use to be I got carded to buy booze, then they stopped asking and just sold it to me. Now I get carded to see if I qualify for senior citizen discounts, and I sure as he-- ain't looking forward to when they stop asking and just give me the discount.

 
In the movie " The Lake House " , the main characters ( played by Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock ) live two years apart ( i.e., Keanu Reeves = 2004 , Sandra Bullock = 2006 ). Through a mailbox, they are able to communicate with each other, despite the difference of time between the two.
They set a date to meet .

Is that possible since it is the mail box that is the 'time machine' and neither of them can travel through time ?

I honestly don't remember the ending, but they could meet if he's really old and it is same timeline. It would be her present and his future.

They are two years apart in time. He is in 2004 and she is in 2006. IF I sent a time traveling email to your 2 year ago self ( 2018 ), and said to meet me ( 2020 ) at the Alamo on December 10th, 2020. It seems that we would be able to do it, provided nothing happened to either us that would prevent us from going to the Alamo.
