He must be somewhere.

Is there a rule, other than a psychological habit, that we have to be at a place we've been before?

If you want to drag in "to be near the ones he loves"--well, that's a reason, but not a life threatening one.

"Not where he wants to be" is also a reason. But who's where they want to be? Even if they know where it is?

Don't forget the ever popular, "Aren't we all lost in space and time?"

"Who knows when we shall meet again, if ever. But time keeps flowing like a river..." Alan Parsons Project [

Thank you for your comments. I like your thoughts.
He most definitely is somewhere. I have created all the details in advance of my writing. "She" will be an integral part of his future, as she has been in his past. There is another character that has not developed that will affect his perceptions even more so. Yes we all are lost in time and space; I hope this will be the appeal of my story. The who, why, what etc. all have answers. I plan to reveal these answers in future posts.

Check back tomorrow, see what you think. The post is called "Cornered In", or maybe just "Cornered", I haven't decided yet. Thanks again for your comment.

Since "Lost In Space" is the title of an old sit-com, why not call it "Lost In Space-Time," and have the ghost of Einstein show up now and then to give advice? I hope you will avoid the cliche of the wise-off space brats (with the canned laugh track), though.

Good luck on your project. PB

Packer,

Or maybe "It's About Time", another TV show from the 1960's

Theme Song Lyrics
Title: "It's About Time"
By: "Gerald Fried and Sherwood Schwartz"

It's about time,
It's about space,
About strange people in the strangest place.

It's about time,
It's about flight,
Travelin' faster than the speed of light.

About space people and a brave crew,
As through the barrier of time they flew.
Pass the Roman Senators,
Pass an armored knight,
Pass the firing Minutemen,
To this modern site.

It's about time for you and me
To meet these people of amazing feats.
It's about two astronauts and how they educate
A pre-historic woman and her pre-historic mate.

It's about time
It's about space
About strange people in the strangest place.

They will be here
With all of us
Dodging a taxi, a car, a bus.

Where will they go
What will they do
In this strange place where everything is new.

Will they manage to survive
Watch each week and see.
Will they get accustomed to the Twentieth Century.

It's about time
For our good byes
To all our pre-historic gals and guys.
And now,
It's About Time
It's About Time
It's About Time
It's About Time!

Thanks for the theme song Darby.

Does anyone know what is faster than the speed of light?

CHECK OUT MY NEW POST " Rain Man ". (Any resemblance to persons living or dead is purely coincidental.)

Tachyons have a link to the positronic brain, interesting.
The speed of thought is said to be equal to the speed of light. Since we have to comprehend the speed of light, and the speed of thought takes no comprehension but is comprehension, I propose the speed of thought to be faster. We use the speed of thought to measure the speed of light, meaning the speed of thought is faster.
Your thoughts?

No. No link. In the parlance, positrons are tardyons, not tachyons. Photons are luxons.

The difference, you might ask, between them? It's the mass. Tardyons have positive rest mass, luxons have zero rest mass and tachyons have negative rest mass. Sounds symmetric but, in the theory at least, it isn't. Only tardyons can be at rest. Luxons only travel at the speed of light of the medium in which they are translating. Tachyons always travel in excess of what we term the speed of light.

One out to this: If we observe a tardyonic universe and reverse the sign in every one of our equations the tardyonic being would observe his/her universe to be pretty much the same as ours.

In that case it is symmetric...(big) if tardyons and tardyonic universes exist.

Man I feel re-tardyonic next to you!

Wow! If my head explodes will my brain matter travel as tardyons, luxons or tachyons?

I love this forum!
