To Pamela: do you favour Windows XP or Windows 7?

Dexter

Android PC

This could be the future of the new PC.

Android PC only about 50$ for brand new system.
So this could be close to a no cost PC as possible included with hardware.

Check out Ebay and type either Android PC or Andriod PC.

Thx.
O K, I was talking about the operating system though, which can be installed on a regular PC or net-book for free at the moment.
True though, this could be really popular; In the world fair when the Television was introduced, critics said that it would never surpass the Radio, because people didn't have time to devote their attention to watching a screen. Android PC has great potential, but for now most PC gamers and other technical enthusiasts will stick to regular computers.

Your OS systems are about to change... IF your rocking XP time is running out and microsoft is gonna stop supporting it forceing the market over to the next generation of operation system windows 7.....

I made the switch to linux. My spouse downgraded her mom from 8 to 7......

I miss the days of VMS a la VAX.

And of course, we all know that Windows NT was developed by a lot of the people who developed VMS, hence by adding one letter past V = W, one letter past M = N, and one letter past S = T. So Win NT was just the next version of VMS.

I have a Nexus 7 running Android. Running old primitive hard/soft would be frustrating for a real time traveller wouldn't you think?

I recently bought a netbook brand new for 130$
that uses android operating system 4.0.

This was the best purchase I made for the price
because I am a cost conscious kind of guy. I go
so far as the cost per day for each device I
purchase when I user my personal business model.

But the bonus I found was not the cheapness of
the device and the operating system but the
applications. The surprise was this the cost of
the applications. I bought a c++ compiler for
3$US installed and running in about 10 minutes from
there app store C4droid (C/C++ compiler).
I am a big Microsoft Visual Studio fan but it cost 700$.
Do the math.

So if we are taking about the future again I think
the big three Microsoft Apple and Intel need a new
business model to survive the future. Time determine
what will happen in this regard to all these companies
in the near term and future.

Thx.

I keep myself well versed in Microsoft and Apple products but Windows 8 I chose not to adopt. I'm running Kubuntu on my MiniLap and Gnome Cinnamon GUI on my workstation. This will be my last large computer. I can do everything I need on new MiniLaps and the cost is around 30,000 yen 300 U.S. If I really was a time traveller, I would tell people to forget about Apple and MS. You can't beat free Linux Android. I said as much back in 1992 running Slackware. Only now in 2013, is Linux stable enough for anyone to use -- also thanks to Google. This little Nexus 7 is the future. But don't dismiss this Mini Laptop just yet.

As would I. Only I would do this so Unix type OS' would become more popular, making .exe, .msi, and other Windows file types irrelevant, resulting in Unix being more supported.

Windows 8 is a temporally screw up. Windows Blue will come out this summer.
Windows 8 is on a dead time line so I think I will stay on it till it expires.

Windows Blue will change to a subscriber method along with other new windows
software like Office so get your stuff before the change over this is a warning.

Thanks.

Designer.

I actually didn't find Windows Eight as annoying as most have described it. Sure the Metro UI was a tad bit annoying, but I had the ability to change the UI on my own back to a classic theme. The performance was slightly improved from 7, but not really anything new. It wasn't bad, in my opinion, but it wasn't good either, just Windows 7 with some pros and cons thrown into the mix; not worth upgrading to if you already have 7.

Windows 8 is a total redo and totally new since it runs on tables and windows phone in the future I think they can ditch Intel.
