Hello people,

My name is Eric Brown, i am currently 26 years old, and I am a time traveler from 2028. I've come here on a RoLL (Retrieval of Lost Literature) mission. You have of course no real reason to believe that i am from the future. In fact, i only see liars and fakers on this forum, who claim to have "traveled through time".

What am i doing on this forum ? Well, i was sent to this era by my commander of Special Operations, but i also have something i need to take care of on my own. When i was still in 2028, right after i got assigned for the mission, i did a little research on this exact period of time. The thing that really bugged me was the little story of John Titor. Well, it wasn't him that bugged me, but the realization that he is going to be what will bring us major problems in the future, and that no one in my era realizes that.

Well i'll get to the point, i can be here for a little longer, so you can ask me anything you like. In return, tell me everything you know about John Titor. I need to know exactly where he is in my period of time.
 
Ok, I think we can give you chance.

Fisrt of all, how your time machine works and tell us something about the future, i.e. Politics, sports, medicine. And what exactly are you looking for in this time period.

Just to verify the veracity of your claim, I would like you to demonstrate the use of a personal phazer. I know these will probably be available for personal protection within the next 5 years. But they don't exist yet. So if you can't do this simple request, then obviously you're a fraud and wasting your time here.

I thought it was pretty clear what my personal goal was, but i repeat, it is to retrieve information on John Titor, any type of information will do, i am mainly on this forum to discuss him, not me. But i guess i can return the favor, and tell you a few things about your future.

You understand ofcourse that i haven't researched the sports area of this period of time, but i know for example that Obama will face a big loss in the upcoming elections, and that many people will be happy with the new president, but later on regret their votes. As for sports i am a fan of soccer, and i am 100% sure that Italy won the upcoming world cup (2014). And if i remember correctly, it was a 3 - 1 win against Brazil.

What do you want with John? Why do you need any information on him? What are your plans with him? How has he disrupted your time?

Hmmm...tell you everything I know about John Titor. OK. First of all, he said time travel would not be invented until 2034. So that makes it a bit problematic for a would-be time traveler from 2028 who has problems caused by Titor. At least one of you isn't being truthful.

Wikipedia? Where do you think Wiki got the information? Here, my friend. All of the Titor posts, including the Post-2-Post thread, are here on this site.

My reply to Bomberman notwithstanding, I'll make reply to you the same as I do to every other otherwise lazy new member on the forum who wants information about Titor: read the damned posts. Do your own research. Familiarize yourself with the topic. Then, and only then, come and ask questions about Titor. It's not our job to do your research. You're (in a fantasy world) being paid to do the research, not us.
 
Bomberman, thanks for the link, but this is not really usefull. I guess it's my fault for not clarifying myself, i wanted something like a link to his actual posts, like Darby said. You're very helpfull Darby, and to reward you, i will tell you something about me.

First of all, i think you've misunderstood me when i said i wanted information on Titor. I'm not being paid for that, i'm being paid for my main mission, Titor is something i personally would like to investigate. "First of all, he said time travel would not be invented until 2034". Things like this, Darby, things like this frustrated me about Titor, you want the whole story ? I will tell you exactly how time travel will be invented in a later post, first i will explain exactly what i want with Titor.

As most of you could figure out, John Titor is not his real name, it isn't a code name either, it is just something he made up. Y2K never happened, not in your world line, not in ours, it just wasn't that big of a problem. The whole story about the IBM-5100 is fabricated nonsense. I could only assume that Titor went directly to your year of 2000, and started posting for another reason, that reason is not my concern. My concern is, that we do not have anything we want from the year 2000, and we won't ever need anything from that year, because everything that was available in the 2000's, and more, is available in the 2010's.

Though other people, like some major resistance groups in my period of time, could have some business in the 2000's. What i cannot fail to see, is that the group that is increasingly giving us most of the trouble (the FP), are going to get what they want someday, and i see a clear link between John Titor, and the FP.
 
Why are all the supposed time travelers always focusing on John Titor, is creativity dead in the future or is it dead here in the present. (Idea) I will pose as a fake time traveler my name will be.....oh you will know....

I would say John Titor raised the bar to a height that is beyond the reach of anyone else as far as fictional time travel tales go. Apparently Eric Brown is no match at all for telling a believable fictional tale.

You truly make me laugh, "Einstein". John Titor says WW3 will start in 2015, i say the civil unrest will start this year, and end in 2013 when a 3rd world war will begin to take place.

I have read a few of his posts, and so far he is telling a half-truth story, and people seem to have enjoyed it, to say the least. Some of what he said about a war is coming to pass. Though i wonder why he didn't mention things like 9/11, that would've really grabbed people's attention. I can only assume he had a goal other than inform people about upcoming events. The only thing about him that is 100% accurate is his TDU.
 
Eric if you want to be a believable time traveler you have to start telling us your story..otherwise you are avoiding the subject. True you stated your reason to be here in the initial post... but you need to be a little more convincing. So far you have munched at JT and not really much of yourself. Sounds like the rest of would be travelers.
 
For example...what sort of literature you came back to retrieve. What is your expertise, you must be a literature major (I presume) in order to find the adequate lost information. Among many things I know a little bit of Literature (not just English Literature but various other languages as well and not just contemporary but Classic, Medieval and Renaissance periods too. So let me know maybe I can help you.
