Well, I guess Rick is not showing up.

Because I wanted to see what he had to say for himself not just what everyone else was saying about him. I am kind of bold like that. I don't know why he is having such a hard time posting though..
I also thought it would be interesting to hear from the guy.

Well, I guess then I will be here to know after the tea party (which I was not at) and fishing the bugs out of my tea, which bugs to eat.

Bugs 'r us.

wow has it really been 6 months? It didn't seem that long to me. I really didn't disappear just been too busy to get online. One of the cool things I got to do recently is learn how to do pottery on old fashioned pottery wheels. They are so cool and you can make some pretty awesome things.
Your foot can get a little tired though. I have made plenty of bowls but for some reason I am having a rather rough time making a vase they always turn into water pitchers. lol /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a two week lull where I have a lot of time and then I will be quite busy again so I hope he hurries up and posts before the 15th. I got a hold of him through Larry Haber. It is his brother you know.

YUK. That is gross Recall! I don't know if I could actually eat that..even if starving. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yeah I use to get into pottery too but for much different reasons than you. I built a furnace out of a trash can, some sand, and some pottery clay with some other ingredients too. I got into melting metal and sand casting for making metal parts for my side hobbies. When I went into the pottery store to get items I needed and the lady their tried to engage me in conversation about what I was doing I usually left with her looking at me oddly. Different strokes for different folks. But back on topic. I hope your guy shows up. I would be interest in what he says.

A little history regarding a local Native American group here in Texas pre-1600's you might find interesting:

"They ( Karankawa's ) made and used very simple pottery. There was little, if any, decoration on these pots. These pots were often so badly made they would not even hold water very well."

I would have thought better of them than to make pots in such a manner. I have some Navajo pottery, and those are quite beautiful.

Alot of ancient peoples especially the Native Americans used a process called "burnishing". The ancient rubbing process of burnishing polishes the outside skin of a clay pot while greatly reducing its porosity.
Most of the time they would take a smooth river stone and use that. Rubbing it in circular motions
until the clay became shiny and less porous.
Since glaze was unknown to the Native Americans before the arrival of the Europeans this made the pots more waterproof and stronger.

If he doesn't post today I am going to start to wonder....

What I'm wondering is why he needs Raul to help him "get him into his account"? If it's a new account then all he need do is register and go. If it's an old account the only help that he might need from Raul is to reset his forgotten PW.
