Ahh that Casablanca label brings back memories. Cool vintage Disco vibe to this tune. A bit ahead of it's time with the soundscape of odd/ industrial/ found sounds - maybe even a "prepared piano" in there. Kind of an alternate reality 2020s/30s sound a la Bladerunner. Add vocals and you've pretty much got Daft Punk 20 years early. Then again, I think some of their earliest stuff was instrumental.
I've been listening to Henry Mancini's famous Peter Gun theme on a vinyl LP I bought recently. I ended up watching the show's first episode free on the Roku channel on my Amazon Fire Stick (looks great in HD). Really cool film Noir tv detective show with some very nice Jazz in it. The music in itself is likely to bring me back for more. I've read that renowned contemporary Jazz musicians were first performers on the show.
