The tesla coil also causes my accelerometer to register acceleration using my voltmeters with the tesla coil in operation. Also I used an analog scope to display in real time what the accelerometer was seeing. The accelerometer was seeing sharp spikes at regular intervals. The spike was two milliseconds in duration and appeared to be equal on the rise and decline sides of the spike. The scope indicated the spike was two tenths of a gee in magnitude. I could not find any magnetic field activity to account for the observed behavior. And the attraction only occurs when I run the secondary of the tesla coil in an open circuit condition.
Also something to note. My tesla coil is not a very high powered tesla coil. I'm lucky to get a spark to jump just over an inch.
