Cricket is very much a game of strategy.....and the time factor is a main element of that.
Agreed. And baseball is very much a game of tactics. So in that sense the two games are very effective complements of each other.
In some schools, the following is taught as the progression one follows to wage war... that is, if one wishes to emerge victorious. One can see that this progression can certainly apply to much more than waging war:
1) Set Objectives
2) Develop Strategy
3) Select Tactics
4) Define Activities
5) Prosecute Tasks
6) Loop back to (1) until victory is assured.
At any given time, multiple instantiations of this progressive schema may be active, all at various phases and various repetitions. The general who succeeds is the one who can manage the largest number of instantiations of this schema.
