Actually there is no void as Thomas says. The universe is an assemblage of wave functions, particles, sub particles, dark matter, light matter and heavy matter all rolled up into one universal stew pot. That we don't see it, that is something else; but we don't see many things that are there like air, radio, microwaves, light and atoms.
