I have encountered John Titor

It was a waste of time, yes.

It doesn't really prove anything. It shows that people on the internet 'can' be gulible, and BS can be spread easily. To be honest you don't have to be Sigman freud to work that little revelation out. I could have told you that and saved you the effort.

Besides due to it being linked to the Titor story, It was never going to be blindly taken as fact.

It also doesn't help the forum, when people keep conductiong their little pyschology tests on it. Read a book rather then violate the boards anymore then they have been already. These 'tests' people do is no brainer common sense, not valuable tests.

It just means when the next person posts a genuine TT incident, we won't give him/her the time of day and they'll meet with a certain amount of hostility.

The story was well done though. Its a shame that there are some sincere sounding fakers out there. Its screws over the rest of the non fakers.

P.S. whether you admit it or not is totally irrelevent, The fact is you were making things up. This doesn't change effects on the next Poster that dares to use this part of the Forum for something sincere.

Obviously people do not understand my logic. I will try to explain this to the best of my ability. First off Reading a book or some one els experiment would not prove anything for me. I am one of those people who need to see and witness things on hand to believe them. When I first herd of titor I thought it was a bunch of BS i thought people were gullible, how could you believe someone from the internet if i were to say I was jesus christ would you believe me? I sure wouldn't if I were you unless the claim was made with proof and solid evidence. Makeing a claim with solid evidents (pictures in Titors case) and a good story you can make belivers out of the unexspected , This is what I thought when I herd titors saga. After conducting my little experiment I am not as skeptical as I was. Ban me, I broke forum rules I lied, I have no life. Before you do though remember I do not want to be banned and this was all for a very worthy cause there is more to the story than I told you. I wish you could understand my logic and from reading the responses to my renouncing I believe no one does. Please understand I had no Intention on hurting Titors case or attacking this websites credibility. I am only a guy looking for an answer I asked my self and I assure you it was not for self confidence.
 
Yeah but my Logic is, Its not hard to work out. Some people will buy it some won't. Thats the internet for you. about 90% of the internet is BS. It breeds the stuff By nature.

A. Some people want to believe Titor - they'll buy it no matter what.

B. Some people don't know for sure - they'll generally read it and want evidence.

C. Some people don't want to believe Titor - they'll refuse it no matter what.

Theres your experiment for you.

It just so happens many of the people on this forum in particular are open minded, but not suckers to any information put in front of them. Hence most would have fallen into group B.

Your story probably intrigued some because it sounded well put together. Even though the Bar code etc was not good evidence. No i don't know what your true purpose was. No i was not attacking you.

same with titor. Everyone loves a change that someone else is causeing. - Like a war in america.. that would be great. - well at least i think so. i much rather run for my life than sit in front of this god-blasted comptuer all day posting on fourms.

i guess i could do somehting worthwhile, i just have a hard time finding something worthwhile to do. Should we start a revolution to lessen the waste and illnecessity of the current system, or shoul be progess to bigger fasted cars and computers and technology to faster pollute the earth with.

i dont know. One thing i do know is that we people of the United states really dont get it.

It tells me that there are very intelligent open minded people here, and thats great. I understand why people are attacking me, OllyB I understand your point and I did not take any offense to any thing you said and thank you for being an adult about this. But for those of you who placed a big L in the middle of my for head I do not believe you understand the whole point of this, and if you do but still think that, what do you think experimentation is? like you have never been skeptical. I just want someone to for give me and know that I did not plan on offending anyone, and if I have I am sorry.

The problem about this is that people like you that just want to have fun or are doing a "project" or whatever to see how fast stuff spread pretty much F's up the idea of us believing the people telling the truth. So many people like you out there doing this, that we dont know whom to believe after all.

I do see your logic and thinking behind it...but it is all human nature. People are gullible, they want to believe, and with enough proof, people do believe to the extent that they have faith in.

If i write a story and say it is fact...and there are backing arguments of these fake facts. OF COURSE people will believe it.

I think this is why people lap up dates of events happening, I bet a number of those familiar with the 'titor' story, are keeping their eys on this year etc, to see if anything does happen. If the civil war starts in the USA, I'm heading for the hills I tell ya.
Still if stuff does happen I'll be jiggered, and if it doesn't then chalk it up to another hoax and carry on with life.
Of course I hope that nothing bad happens to the USA, like another 9/11 some guy was saying was going to happen in march I think.
And another saying some guy called Jeb or his brother was going to get shot.
Anyone heard about this stuff?
 
I'm having trouble believing your story, i'll address the problems i've come across.

I Said I didn't believe him I went on and on about how anyone could believe him. When a man behind me in line said "You are incorrect" I replied back, "You know about John Titor?" he said "yes .." I asked him "why am I wrong do you actually believe that story" he then reached into his pocket and pulled out what looked to be a business card, on it was a photo ID of the man next to it, said Johnathon Titor. It was dated 2036 and had some kind of logo in the back round of a clock and NASA's Logo. After that he said "believe me now?" I didn't know what to say. I asked him if it was photoshoped but he flipped it over and there was a bar code.

There are 3 things from John Titors orignal story that are inconsistent with this part of your story.

1. John has said several times in his original posts that he didn't care if anyone believed him. He even had rather that people didn't believe him because that would ensure his safety in this worldline.
2. As someone else already pointed out, John Titor was a pseudonym he used. Therefore his ID card would not show the name Johnathan Titor but rather his real name.
3. This was also pointed out by that same person (sorry, i'm terrible at remembering names), he wouldn't be caught dead at a burger joint. He would be mortified at the idea of catching Creutzfelt-Jacobs Disease (CJD) which is a major problem in his time. Even if that weren't a factor, he still wouldn't eat something when not knowing exactly where it came from and what happened to it before it landed on his plate. Even a McSalad would be too scary for him.

He invited me to eat lunch with him, he told me about the civil war he went into more detail then I have read about. He said that it would start on March 20 2005,

He couldn't have been that specific. The John Titor in the original forum posts would agree that since there's at least a 2.5% temporal divergence between his worldline and ours, key events as he knows them, may take place at an early time, later of may even never happen at all.
It is believed that one example he has given was the Y2K "problem" that never turned out to be a problem at all. At least, not in our worldline.

He also told me about other current events that would happen, such as the an earth quake in the Indian ocean which would cause a huge tsunami and kill 100,000 of thousands.

Had you come forward with that info before Christmas, it would have had a lot of credibility now. Why wait 4 years before joining this board and telling us?

He then said that in 2012 there would be another cold war, he said during this time he went deep into Florida's woodland with some friends and survived eating plants and fish and other wild life. He then said a rescue team came for him and he was taken to a military base in Ohio were he would be under evaluation for 2 months then returned to Florida he said Jacksonville was left in ruins. He then joined the military and has been in it ever since.

That's quite impossible. Again i quote from his original posts:
"No, I do not work for GE or any other company"
"Work is organized around the family and the value of that work is assessed inside of the community"
With that in mind, it would stand to reason that John, as an historian, would work at a local school or maybe some institute for higher education, but not with NASA whis qualifies as a company in my book.

Based on the assumptions that what you tell us is true and that original story of the person who called himself John Titor is true, then, based on the evidence, you have been BS'ed big time.

But, i would find it more likely that you are BS'ing us. You say you remember the things that he shown and told you 4 years ago. Memories can be good, but it's impossible to remember something in such a great detail.

I would therefore content that you have made this story up (i was thinking of stronger words though), based on a quick read of the John Titor story.

Cool. What is interesting is people have been impersonating time travelers for years.

Now people make up stories about Titor. Why is this? What is so special about JT that draws people in. I've heard other TT tales before but a "legend" doesn't build up from the characters in other stories.

Is anyone else scared about MEM's Yellowstone interpretation? I honestly wonder.
