Estimate of Number of Universes

I wanted to point out: Just because I believe that there are an infinite number of 'world lines' does not mean that I believe one exists for every possible outcome. Everything that has, or could have, happened is a result of cause. Without the influence and cause, there's no reason to assume that a particular outcome could have occurred.

Example: Is there a world line where I was born a child of every possible set of parents? How about to a black or chinese family? (I am white)

I also believe, if only it were observable (and if within the instance of a "split"), that a definitive number could be calculated, at any given moment, for the number of world lines that exist. However, assuming time and matter continue on into infinity (and I think they will), world lines have infinite potential.

Example: Is there a world line where I was born a child of every possible set of parents? How about to a black or chinese family?

According to me, that is nothing to get confused. A person is UNIQUE in a Worldline or a set of Worldlines and in a different worldline or different set of worldlines he will never exist. It is either he would exist as himself or he would never exist at all in the other worldlines. So to him, he always exists as himself, not as someone else. This idea is hard to digest for some people.

It is certainly more practical and scientific than Hercules' lame attempts to convince us that there is a scientific basis for INFINITE worldlines.

I am not trying to convince you or anyone else of anything. It is just about how I try to get an answer you don’t like. I see it in a different manner, cuz I like the Tipler’s ideas of immortality. Infinite worldlines is also a possible way the universe exists which we do not know yet.

And reading your “sneeze” example, I do get some interesting ideas. I would say the decisions taken by a person are influenced and limited by natural disasters and other probabilities of nature in each set of worldlines.

I also have to say that i dont believe there exists infinite universes. Not universes of time, or what people would consider different dimensional universes.

I think this because in the material universe there are always finite possibilities to any one situation. there is great and limited scope at the same time. There is only so much that you can do with 3 dimensions and a consciousness that is bound in perception to 3 dimensions. nothing is permanent therefore that which lacks permanence can never really be infinite. thats not to say combinations of situations and possibilities can even be comprehended (such are their vastness). Just that at the end of it all - its still bound by maths and number - and finite.

Perhaps, other higher dimensions within the Superuniverse work on different maths and physics. But those are probably outside of a 3D mentality in order to properly comprehend.

I tend to think (myself) all things have to be contained within 'nothing'. If there are contained within 'one' thing. They are finite, as 'One' is also finite.

The driving force behind everything, would be best described as nothing. Within nothing - infinite possibilities exist.

kind regards,
Olly
