Another 2012 event...

Looking through NASA's website, I came across an article that states...

"""This week researchers announced that a storm is coming--the most intense solar maximum...""
"""Like most experts in the field, Hathaway has confidence in the conveyor belt model and agrees with Dikpati that the next solar maximum should be a doozy."""
"""Dikpati's forecast puts Solar Max at 2012"""

Seems 2012 will be a very interesting year.

So we would hope, Olly...or maybe not. If 2012 is a year of ascension, I am all for that. If it is a year that will bring about changes, I am for that, as well.

Earth certainly needs a tune up, I just hope that it isnt something that brings "bad" things to us.

Not many people really know what 2012 is.

I dont think it will be such an outwardly signiicant event. Rather the seemingly un-noticed will be where the biggest change lays.

There are several "events" that are to occur in 2012. The Mayan Calender just being one of those, marking the end of one cycle and the beginning of another.

There also will be a celestial alignment that is extremely rare, and it coincides with the solar flares.

There seems to be alot of energy placed upon the Earth during the year of 2012.

It is also an interesting coincidence that the Bible mentions that the 7 year period it speaks of will begin with an Earthquake "deep" within the Ocean. The Earthquake that caused the Indonesian Tsunami happens to have occurred just about 7 years before 2012.

2012 may slip by as every other year, but then, it may not. We will certainly find out, we dont have that long to wait.

I'll be 48 in 2012. And my back is already feeling it! :D

Spent the day on Fraser Island yesterday... the world's largest sand island (with rainforests growing on it!). Imagine that! This evening I am in Rockhampton, for those who are following my journey (as if anyone cares).

I figured if Creedo could get away with all sorts of off-topic mumbo jumbo, I ought to be able to as well!

Yes, I DO believe there are many changes we are heading for that will culimate in 2012.

The End of Ordinary Time?

I do not really understand the fascination with the year 2012. So what if the Mayan Calender ends there? Do people expect that the Mayans should have continued to calculate the dates and times forever? I mean seriously they had to stop somewhere.

You might want to read-up on it a bit. It's not that the Mayan calendar "ends" there, but rather that this is where the largest cycle in the Mayan calendar (baktun) "turns over" in 2012. (Think of it like our calendar turning over on DEC 31st).

Given how long ago the Mayans set up their calendar, and how good they were at astronomical observations, I find it interesting that their largest calendar cycle "turns over" at a very auspicious time in our technological development.

I care. I can feel the void with your daily posts missing from the forums. Who said you could take vacation?

Hope you are making a fantastic time of it, and it seems as though you are a that! Good show, old man!

Going to vist a aboriginey shaman? That would be novel.

Take care and hope everything remains fun and exciting.

I find it kind of wierd that my little brothers 21st and golden birthday is December 21st 2012 at 5:11am. That is the estimated time the winter solstice will occur. Thats a strange coincidence I think. I'm not saying anything too special, it's just wierd.

me too.

See that! So there is another good area where we seem to agree, MEM. And I salute you for your interest in this area. I just wish I could get you to "open up" a bit and discuss your thoughts and feelings on these areas where we agree. It would seem to me that these are areas where there is much more "there" for us to explore than those areas where we think each other are idiots. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

in my opinion its just what that link says, end of a galactic year, i dont know what scinentists say but its logical to me the earth rotates arond its center, the moon revolves around the earth, the earth revolves around the sun, the sun must revolve around something, which obviously means the sun completes its rotation at that date, further more, the milky way must revolve around something and that thing revolve around something else, so on and so on

B T W Rainmantime,up there in queensland have you driven a ford XR8,or a SS commodore?faster than a time machine.Will get you to 2012 in 14.5 seconds.
