I remember when I heard of the first Time War that I thought "We surely can't be serious about this, right?"

Kairos seemed more serious than usual. "I wish that were the case. Remember that they do not exist entirely in the same dimensional space as us. Because of this, termination from the present physical plane is not enough. We begin November 16."

"A time war is it?" Odin's excitement was immeasurable. "When do we go first?!"

Hades chimed in "This will be my last war, brother."

I was a little confused at Hades' meaning, but did not ask any additional questions. "Am I really needed? This feels above my paygrade…" I joked halfheartedly.

"Where's your lover, lover boy?" Persephone spoke like a true goddess, filling the air with a certain energy that sends tingles down men's spines.

"I'd rather she stay out of this, if possible." Kairos replied.

"No worries lover boy, we have no intention of bringing her into this mess. I just wondered as she isn't here. Safe, I hope?" Persephone said assuredly.

Kairos bowed his head slightly and spoke softly "Indeed, your grace." When he spoke it was as if he briefly tapped into the energy that Persephone emanated just moments ago.

Persephone blushed.

Floki and Baldr arrived late.

"Sorry, we got caught up and lost track of time." Floki said. "Who's ready for the end of all things?!!" he said with a sarcastic tone.

"You seem…different…" I said to Baldr. "Older? Stronger? More seasoned?" I could tell Baldr was keeping something. I didn't press for more than he was comfortable sharing.

Baldr held his hand up as if to interrupt from what was about to say.
"Can I just say, none of you should worry. Then we leave it at that?"

"Aye." Kairos replied for me. "We thank you for being here."

Odin seemed to become anxious with excitement. "I've never been more ready or felt more confident in our success. Should I fall, I would like for Baldr to hold my vigil. Orpheus perhaps can play his ocarina."

"That's a highly specific request, All Father." Kairos said. "None of us should expect to make it out this alive. Yet, if any one of us succeed, we all succeed.
All for One, and One for All."
