Unfortunately, it appears that it was only a temporary outage. URL works fine for me.

However, it is my opinion that there has been a sufficient "critical mass" of predictions by Titor that have not come to pass such that most people are now clear it was a hoax. The completion of 2006 without a US Civil War would provide more counter-evidence, as is the lack of Mad Cow, the non-cessation of the Olympics, and any other number of things Titor said would come to pass not having come to pass!

To those people who insist that Titor's 2% divergence metric is scientifically valid, I would ask you: Don't you think Titor's insistence on Mad Cow pandemic and his absentia on the issue of Bird Flu would mark more than a 2% difference in worldlines?
That is if you can tell me what the percentage is based on! /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mad cow is very real and very present, why do you not see it. The different governments have hidden the issue in order to stablize the global beef market. The avian flu (h5n) is only that....yes it will kill but it will kill mostly the old, the yong and the weak.The predictions are not even 1% of the global population. Mad cow on the other hand is infecting all humans that eat beef, no exeption. The meat is on the market, you are ingesting it unknowingly.This is infecting over 67% of industialized nations thus over 19% of the total global population. Out of this percentage you need to calculate the poeple that do not eat beef, the numbers are approxated at 1.3%. The total number that we end up with is 17.7%. Much higher than the Avian flu.

the fact is, that fortunately (or not if you view it this way) We all eat out of skips and drink out of drains. Most of us will be dead before we get caught by CJD. A lot more people carry it around then is reported. But it also lays dormant longer then reported too.

Titor, before he cruised back to 2038, never in his infinte 'wisdom' left his methods or equations regarding how he worked out his personal percentage divergence drivel. So arguing over this point is, well, pointless.

One persons 2% could be indicated by a different colour car outside their house, another persons 2% could be the aliens running around shotting you up the arse with the latest sirian ray gun 2000.

Now, having just realised that i've been drawn into a Titor related thread, I must bid you farwell -for I must shower and impossibly remove the ample amounts of psychological dirt from my body, as a direct result or this action!!

As the immortal Fred Flintstone would proclaim: "Yabba Dabba Doo!" You've concisely addressed the BS of Titor's undefined worldline divergence about as well as one could hope to summarize it.

2% means absolutely NOTHING until you define what 100% means, in a physical, measurable sense. In fact, I'd guess the Titor hoaxer chose 2% for no better reason than this was the number staring at him on the milk carton as he ate his morning breakfast cereal.

Another thing I noticed that was really odd is that for all the posting John did, he never once complained about politics in the future. You think that after a civil war there would be very heated arguments on virtually everything (ala the American Revolution and politics afterward, the American Civil War, etc.) Instead, you hear nothing. On one of their webpages all they do is have questions and John's answers. Doctors are better, music is better, food is better, everything is perfect.

It's a common failure for time travelers (from the future) on this forum to neglect to talk about what they *don't* like about their time. I'd call it a utopian fallibility - they want to tell a story about how good things are in the future and what they don't like about this particular time period.

It's just another way to make an argument.

C who is a time travel we know, said in the first visit to the future, he saw lots of devastation and people eating from garbage heaps.

Another dirge into the future, showed a time, when the only time they could go outside, was at night, as the daytime was lethal to be in.

The gray human spin-offs, in that time, will be down below ground, as they are too fragile to live on the surface.

The human race, in effect, got sold out.

I agree, it is odd that John never mentioned about the bad things during his timeline, especially after World War 3. He wasn't at all precise about what led up to the war and who or what started it. He seemed out of touch with things of present day America. The interior of his vehicle looks like a mustang car or jeep, but nothing futuristic. Which makes one wonder and question that the aftermath of the war left everything like scavengers of the MAD MAX movie. In seeing the pics of John's hands, they look kind of foreign (Sahara Desert type). Perhaps, the reason why he can't say anything about political stuff, is cause no high officials left to run the country, except a surviving population, like settlers starting all over.

What John is refering to sounds like a Biblical verse concerning Civilization as we know it
would be gone. One website describe the civil war that John spoke of as a result of political
conflicts between the two political parties (Democrat & Republican).

One can't help but wonder that the story of John Titor came out of one of those tabloids from
1975; the very year he supposedly went back to to retrieve computer stuff. The person may not be a 'John Titor' at all and could now be sitting back just <font color="black"> [/COLOR] amusing himself at all the commotion he started, on the internet.
