Will RMT show us one?

Because of this statment,{"*I* am the only person in this timeline who knows the "true" secret to time travel."
RainmanTime,},do you think Rainmantime will show us one?

Instead of reading this statement out-of-context, which is exactly what jmpet wants you to do, it might be better to go back and find that post and read the context within which I made that statement. I'm sure you will find it was quite tongue-in-cheek given the person's claims that I was responding to! /ttiforum/images/graemlins/yum.gif

On 3/21/04, the user TimeTravel_1 started a thread with this message:

>Three days ago John Titor died. In his final words he asked that the "Time Travel Institue" from the year 2036 (2000-2001 your time) be notified of his death and told this. The Unix problem had been fixed and that his mission was a total success. John also asked that you be told that he would need someone who would follow an order till he or she died to seek him out. In this world John is only 6 currently. I cannot disclose where exactly he lives but if you find out, when the wars come very soon you will have a place of safe being. Let this be known to all.<

He said Titor's funeral will be held in the Everglades. Of course everyone had questions, so the next day he posted:

>TheSadOne: You bring up some valid points that I will address.
1) I am not TimeTravel_0 that was John and he will always remain TimeTravel_0 also knowing John he would want his legacy to continue if he wasn't truely dead.
2) Please I beg for you to come to our timeline and attend the funeral.
3) As John stated earlier Titor is not his true last name. Johns familey has left Florida in this timeline and moved to an undiclosed location.
4) In the future the Everglades was completely dried up and thus turned into an enourmous graveyard. Any other questions?<

to which TheSadOne replied:

>Good point Tyson, which is why I origonally thought they were the same person, and he was trying to put an end to it, psychologically they're reeeal similar, but it's late, he said it's not him, so I'm not gonna put up a fight. Let him be whoever he wants to be. If it is in fact that he's lying... ooo, mysterious.<

TimeTravel_1 replied:

Again believe me or not. Just wait you'll see soon enough just wait till the civil war. It has already begun.

Finally, here is RainmanTime's post, his first post on this thread:

>>>Oh for the love of Gaia...here we go again!

In reply to: Again believe me or not. Just wait you'll see soon enough just wait till the civil war. It has already begun.

1) I'll choose the "not" answer, if that is alright by you, my wonderous time-traveling friend.
2) I can see, from your second sentence and other posts of yours, that diction, grammar, and proper punctuation are still not being enforced in the schools. Guess George Bush's "no child left behind" must have missed you!
3) It has NOT already begun, nor will it begin. Apparantly, your handlers sent you to the wrong timeline! You see, *I* am the only person in this timeline who knows the "true" secret to time travel. Inasmuch as I am trying to educate these people in the PROPER way, to avoid such polluted timelines that can give way to civil wars, I'd appreciate it if you would just shut the hell up, stop polluting a timeline that I was sent here to save, and go find a video game forum to spew your claptrap on!

Sincere Regards,

I guess that's his name. Acimsli is a unique google word, it's only in his posts.

RMT, who taught me no evidence means no conclusions, was playing around by making the similar claims with an equal lack of evidence, by injecting himself into the OP's story to making his own character out to be the responsible one. "Nothing to see here, move along bad Titor man". I laughed...

Thanks to jmpet for putting the quote into its full context.

And thanks to newbie for understanding exactly why I was taking that tone. In fact, the core element of newbie's understanding is something that a lot of people could learn from when they don't like what I have to say about Titor. It bears repeating over and over whenever you think you still believe Titor's story:

no evidence means no conclusions
That is just good science. And all I do is take it the next step further: If there is no evidence, and thus you cannot make any conclusions, would you vote "for" or "against" believing what the person making the claims is saying? Again, invoking "good science", the answer is you suspend belief until you see at least SOME decent evidence that supports the claimaint's claim. If you didn't, then you'd be in the business of believing any passable fairy tale that someone wanted to spin.

All I did was present the full context, not explain what led you to your quote. The quote still stands, the question is still valid.

What question? If you mean creedo's subject line question, I guess I needs to be told what he means when he says "show us one". I'm smart, but I prefer my questions stated clearly. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I believe the question at hand is "Because of this statment,{'*I* am the only person in this timeline who knows the "true" secret to time travel.' RainmanTime}, do you think Rainmantime will show us one?"

Again I am asking "show us one what?" As shown by the context, I was using the same tactic as the OP... stating something that I couldn't prove as true. I was being facetious (now that's a $30 word!).

However, if the "show us one" relates to a secret to time travel, I would offer up the one that I have claimed all along: We will not achieve time travel in the manner romanticized by books and movies (i.e. a whole person, being the same person on both ends of the time travel). This falls out of the fact that to travel through space, we have to expend Mass per unit Time (mass flow rate, which provides thrust). The logic (and maths) I use to support this "secret" to TT is that if you wish to travel through Time, then you must alter the other two fundamental units of measure (Mass and Space). It is from this that I come to the conclusion that your body, as it exists now, will not be able to travel through Time without having its Mass and Spatial constructs modified.

There...did I "show you one"?
