why Time Travel interests you

Hi everyone,

I'm writing a paper about time travel in literature and I wanted to hear people's thoughts on why time travel interests them. Any help appreciated.
 
Alright, I guess I should atleast tell others why I'm interested in time travel before going around asking them. In painful times, I'd wish for a way to go to the past to correct my mistakes. In happy times, I'd just want time to slow down (time manipulation). In other times, the subject of time travel interests me because of the theoretical problems it poses, the various brain-twisting time paradoxes. But all this is just my limited view. I'd like others' thoughts to build up my essay. I don't think people have anything to lose here by replying.
 
Well, first there is Space Travel. But that would take so long as to take generations of people to get anywhere after finding if there is a Planet around Sun, that is suitable for life.
Well, with cutting down the length of time that it would take to journey to the stars, enters in time travel, and the thinking about that.

So, before any humans go anywhere, and it can take up to two years just to get to Mars, in an ellipitcal orbit to get there, then something else may have to happen first, and that is cutting down the length of the trip, thinking about Time Travel.

And anyway, all of are stuckies here in this inertial frame of reference (The Earth), and noone can get off of this Planet and actually live in Space without help, from supplies, that has to be continued. In deep space, one can think of ways of making the space ship supply the necessary food and such for such a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long vovage, but then, it all costs money, and all takes -- time --- to build -- if it can be built!

Otherwise, you are stuck here on Planet Earth!

yea weird aint it ^^ i really dont know what draws me to it. I think it's conspiracy theories in general that sparked my interest in coming to this forum and learning more about TT. I know JT is what really started it, but now it's more of something for my self. Something i would love to be a part of, but the only way i can be apart of it is by watching... for i have no special degrees or anything, infact im a highschool dropout. So i guess it could also be a longing to send a message back to myself to make sure i stay in school and do good. Cuz i regret that so much over the past couple years that i just wish everyday i could change that decision...
 
Well, as long as anyone is alive, it may be possible to change about anything in one's life.
It may be hard, one may have to be determined, but still, it can be doable.

Also, perhaps, just perhaps, we were dumped here by an Alien Civilization, an Elder Civilization, that just allowed us to live, being the genetic experiment that perhaps we all are! Who knows? But without -- time travel someday --- we will never ever be sure, and even as such, we continue to search for some meaning and perhaps some reassurance that we are not alone in this Universe!

Along with Space Travel, it seems to be a part of us, in all of us, and afterall we were perhaps even made -- from the Stars that make up the night sky!

As is my interest in Time Travel as well. I also think that it would be fantastic if it were possible to "rescue" lost literature that was destroyed when some of the great libraries of the past were burned down.

That would be good enough for me.

Im interested in Time Travel for the wrong reason....

I want to win the Lottery. Every day. lol.

and the pyhsics of it are just...awsome.
