What I believe

Temporal Novice
This is my first post. I dont normally join forum websites, but I felt I had to. I have been reading some of the discussions about time travel and some of them sound a bit unbelieveable.
I believe time travel is possible, but i dont think as of today it is possible as we do not have the technology to do such a thing. I do not believe you can go back in time because you are unable to change what has been changed because if you do, it will change everything. I read somewhere that someone (if they could) go back and kill Hilter. Doing this would have made the world a greater place to live in back then, but people who met at the war and got married etc. never would have met because if there was no hilter, there would be no war and they would not have had children, then a lot of people would not have been born.
I honestly believe that the future for earth is very glim. I read somewhere that back in the late 20s (I think), some US government pilot was flying when he got lost over the north pole. He ended up meeting these 'beings' who told him that we are destorying the earth with all the fighting etc and it was too late to change anything. These beings said they were here last time we destroyed the earth and they repaired it, but it took many years. They said it will happen again, but we have a choice on how quickly we want that to happen. He later told the US government on his return home, but they just ignored his claims. It was later revealed after the died what had happened and it was leaked to the media through his diary entries. As I look back from now, until the present day, I honestly do believe that it is happening. Everything on earth is honestly falling apart. The fighting between countries. The sucide bombers. The tidal wave last year. The earth quake this year. The destruction of earth...

Who else agrees? disagress?

Time travel technology will be developed, However it will be a long time from now before it is used for any productive purposes. The challenge is how altering events of the past (your killing of Hitler before WWII example)will affect the future. Time travellers will need to have minimal interaction with people and events when visiting the past. The smallest change could have significant impact. As far as earth falling apart, maybe so. However, there have always been disasters and problems in the world. Because of the age we live in, information is available on the click of a mouse button or on the ticker at the bottom of a news channel. If a girl is reported missing in Idaho, the whole worlds knows about it immediately. We get bombarded with so much news the majority of it bad. The information age is great to be apart of, but it has its pros and cons. Thanks for your post, and opinion. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
