What I believe ghosts to really be

Everyone is so quick to assume that when they see a person that is see through or otherwise otherworldly, that they must be the continuing existence of a dead person. Just because a person is dead in this reality, doesn't mean they don't continue to exist in another. What I think people are seeing is the reenactment of an event or events that happened, and continues to happen through time. This is why what they see is partially transparent, because it is not completely in our plane of existence. In many cases the "ghost" does not interact with the person observing them. In fact, they are oblivious, because they are carrying out an event in their lives. There are sometimes non-living things in these ghostly scenes as well, such as trains. How can something that never lived be in ghostly form?

I had a very similar theory regarding "ghosts". About 3 years ago something happened to me that changed my opinion forever. I appreciate everyone's perspective. I sincerely believe that ghosts, apparitions, spirits and the like are demonic. These evil entities are magnificantly smart. They attempt to masquerade as innocent beings, even loved ones. This is only an enticement. Ultimately, they want nothing but death and destruction. This was my experience any way. I caught mine on tape.

princepts: Can you please share? I really want to know more about this story and I believe that so do others!

Anyway I've heard about a person who lives not too far and can see the ghosts. He couldn't clearly explain how do they look like, but he had a wrist band which keeps them from touching him. By the way he is mentally sane.

Reality is not as black and white as people like to think. The physcial world itself is not as fixed as we used to believe. What is reality has a lot to do with perceptions. So if a group of people are expecting to see something, then they might actually see this thing. This explains things like group hallucinations. But if there are 100 people, 99 see the hallucination and 1 person does not. Who is to say that one persons perception of reality is better then the other 99.

Observing things can change events, this has a scientific basis in physics. Space and especially time is an illusion to some degree. This has been proven countless times that eye witness accounts of things are highly unreliable. Even when there is video backing up the eye witness account, the video can not see everything so there is interpretation involved. How you see things is an illusion. If this wasn't the case then optical illusions would not exist. We now know there are other types of illusions like audio illusions.

Really not a bad theory, but many people claim when there is a ghost other stuff in the area is affected such as temperature and things being moved or thrown about. Even if they are in a different dimension, something is either weak or strong to allow them to affect our world.

I think this is a very interesting theory about ghosts. I'm on the fence about them myself, so it's quite interesting to hear other people describe their take on it. I've had only one experience with what I felt with (at the time) was a spirit, but now that some time distance has occurred I'm kind of quick to explain it away with a more scientific approach. I won't forget the experience, though, and I think I'll always be interested in the paranormal as a result...if for no more than the "what if" factor.

For me ghosts is the energy left behind when the body dies. We can say it's the personality that stays behind and doesn't die immediately and eventually still believes that is living.

Ghosts are just in our mind. We see them because in our head we fear the idea of a white spirit of a dead person glowing and shining. For example, take one random person and put him in a abandoned asylum in the night. When he'll be out I'll be sure 100% sure that he will say that he saw some ghosts or orbs or something along that line. This because he was put in a scenario where generally we all know that ghosts are supposed to be there...

Ghosts seem to be a catch all phrase for many things these days- I am not certain that I am going to believe that they can't be a person that has left their once living body, maybe they (we) can and do. But like princepts, I have had a few very weird experiences that make me certain that there could very well be something else going on. I am not so sure I would just believe any "thing" that was telling me it was my dearly departed family, or god or anything of that nature. It is very possible that there could be things that we do not know about that have the ability to move about and trick us into thinking they are the dead. I certain would approach any instance like that with the upmost caution and open mind.

I remember a few years back when ghost hunting seemed to be such a rage, there were folks that just wanted to have the experience, and I would say time and time again, that you just could not be sure what it was that you were really experiencing. It could be aliens, it could be demons, it might even be something inter-dimensional, but for the most part I am certain that a lot of it was imagination.

I think this is an interesting theory as well. Probably it can’t be proven, but at the very least it would make the good basis for a story, if there isn’t something similar out there already. I’d read that.
