What do you think the real "you" is?

All Intellectuals feel free to express please. Are you just a bunch of Atoms chasing Eves? How are you different than a complex computer? Do you think you were made by someone of a higher intelligence, or a bunch of Apes got struck by a bolt of lighting and their hair fell off. Do you think the real "You" dies when this turtle shell body dies?

 
I'm just one of many many many immortal beings that happens to be inhabiting a mortal body at present. I was never really made. But I exist, therefore I am.

 
when i look at a computer, i see little differences between it and myself. we both have storage medium, sensitivity to light and sound, and we both have complex processing units. we both make noise and can visually output. from what i can tell, the only difference between a person and a computer is common sense, and those lines blur more everyday. pc's have character, such as mine, with its 512mb of ram. its a boss on xp, until said ram runs out. then its a cantankerous lil s.o.b. kinda like me and cigarettes. ;)

 
Always an interesting question for the ages. I find my answers in a combination of science and religion.

Follow up questions: Does your original question even matter? What difference does it make?

Follow up answers: It matters to me and makes a difference in the way I live my life. And as one thing affects others, the question therefore holds consequence to others and my environment.

 
I believe in God, i believe that He created me although i'm not sure about the reason behind it and the common answers of holy religions do not really satisfies me. But i want to believe that my existence, our existence will not fade away after death. Our consciousness or soul whatever you prefer to call it, should be able to exist longer than our bodies. Otherwise, this life i am living right now would be a bit pointless.

So i believe i am my consciousness/soul and my consciousness/soul have a body that i see in the mirror everyday.

 
Indeed. We are not sure about anything. Even this person we called God might be a genius who created/captured us all in a huge matrix.. Or maybe we are the products of a huge accident. It still makes me wonder, where did these things that caused the accident in the first place come from etc.. Wish i was born in a different time when humankind know the truth behind it all. (irrelevant post sorry, i wanted to tell anyway.)

 
A simple evolutional change over time of string particles? At some point by chance an alignment took place by random to form into a self replicating energy to mass shape. Over many years of chance combinations of energy to mass we became us? Energy decaying into mass that still contained energy to continue to build upon itself? Just a SWAG!

 
I think we may be what was told to the nurse as recorded in her report? I.S.B.E.'s, or Immortal Souls, Biological, Entities.
