God vs. Science: Can Religion Stand Up To the Test?

And once again the creators of SouthPark have shown the TIMEliness of their humor-based examination of our society's values... because this week's new episode was the first of a 2-part series dealing with Evolution vs. Creationism, atheists vs. theists, and even including a "guest appearance" by Richard Dawkins, who soon becomes Mrs. Garrison's new boyfriend! (Not to mention a trip to the future for Eric Cartman!)

It would seem the "battle lines" are clearly drawn... and it would also seem that the people on each side of this "argument" want you to CHOOSE ONE (Science or Religion), as if they are distinct views, with differing goals.

But what of the choice to CHOOSE BOTH and seek to integrate the views of both into a new truth?

Signal 7 a guest on Art bell many years ago spoke about just this topic, the out come he spoke of was on the side of ***********.

I think the simple answer is most science minded people don't seek God because clearly, God doesn't seek them.

RMT,

Like I told you. South Park was doing an episode on GOD. (I have no connection to media /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Are the South Park creators readers of TTI?

Prediction:

Look for arguements taken from TTI. Look for 'The Force' references and 'GOD is Light' Theory.

Hey there Cigman,

Are the South Park creators readers of TTI?

Oh yeah, I can just picture it now: SouthPark makes fun of the Titor fanatics on this board (some of them at least
) and does a show on them. It all starts after a new visitor comes to SouthPark, and claims to be from the future. He ends up gathering a crowd of followers who believe everything he says, and who he then invites over to his garage for a live demonstration of his "temporal device." Which is really just a bunch of miscellaneous parts put together with blinking LED’s, and with a biohazard sticker stuck on it that he got from the Hot Topic /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif. This Titor character is such a show off on the show, he tries to impress the girls every chance he gets.

As the crowd makes their way to JT's garage, the TTA (his unsuspecting next door neighbor) makes a special cameo appearance (in cape & all) takes a few of his beers from his frige and zaps his time machine into a million little pieces… and then… wait a min… the script sounds a bit similar to Act: I. Maybe it's just another coincidence... or is it
?

TTA,

Ah... You lost me. But if the creators of SouthPark are readers they may take your idea under consideration. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

But I was referring the ongoing TTI God threads.

At the Super Secret Bunker (SSB) located under a former military base, we data mined the entire web and the only place really talking about GOD and the Universe's true nature is... here. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And we also know that republicans drink Dr. Pepper and drive Audi's. We have agents standing by in every 7-11 /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh ok, I get what you’re saying now.

Imagine that, this forum and the people who collaborate here, could potentially be the place that unlocks the secrets of the universe.

What a concept /ttiforum/images/graemlins/ooo.gif!

Just saw the South Park conclusion. I'm pretty sure I heard a reference to french-chinese people wanting to take over Hawaii and laughed pretty hard 'cause it made me thing of that 666911 guy from his riddle thread.

A great episode. And while it was about God somewhat, it was more about the ridiculous state of people's adherence to a specific RELIGION that they were spoofing. What the atheists called themselves!!

The boys continue to do "God's work"!

I think that were it not for religion, science would already have reached the idea of 'intelligent design.' The contest isn't really about ideology so much as it is about power over the social mind, and the personal interests (jobs)of the combatants[if you want to call them that].

But note the EITHER-OR context. Quite similar to the two party system in which both parties mutually cooperate to shut out new competition. They try to convince that its either US or THEM and no other possibility exists.
