I can't describe the despair I felt as I looked across the sea of glass following the first all-out global nuclear war. Obama had tried to pit certain rival nations against each other in order to bring about their mutual destruction while we sat by and watched. However, another nation had a covert information source inside the oval office and learned of the plan early. The information was relayed to the targeted countries, which created alliances against the US and increased tensions among all nations. Afterward, a disillusioned member of the cabinet attempted to kill Obama, and nearly succeeded. After his recovery, Obama was unresponsive and decisively cruel, firing warheads upon three separate nations. A thorough shakedown in his staff revealed and discarded all opposition to his policy, and he proceeded to wage a war that could not be won. All major cities were destroyed, and the fallout was promised to end most life on earth. My escape was by chance, for I was outside the city when it occurred, and the research facility was underground and well away from ground zero. Its on-site power station kept things running long enough for a few of us to escape. The two before me were sent several years back to create smear campaigns against the names Hussein and Osama, as well as promote the name McClane, in order to influence the popular vote. I was sent as backup, in case their efforts were insufficient. I really don't know how to convince you, because I know you will ask for pictures or artifacts. However, all electronics were destroyed by EMP, and film was destroyed by gamma rays; all cities were levelled. There is one more presidential debate, then the elections; this is the last chance to prevent the worst possible outcome. If I stop posting here, it means I have succeeded.

My how dramatic! Perhaps if you cannot describe the despair, maybe you could describe the effects of the thyroid cancer you began to suffer from? Or better yet, could you explain why people were wasting their nuclear weapons bombing deserts rather than populated cities? Because you would have had to have been looking across a desert to see the proverbial glass from a nuclear blast. I wonder how much research you did on the glass myth before you incorporated it into your story? Did you know the creation of the glass at Trinity Site did not occur in the way that legend claims?

Question: Could you tell us what Congress was doing at this time? Sure sounds like some impeachable offenses by Obama... heck if lying about getting a blowjob can trigger impeachment, I'd imagine nuking anyone and everyone would certainly get one in the doghouse!

I tell you the truth-- the answers that were are all seeking when these guys speak about time travel/making predictions cannot be reached logically-
Every time I come in one - I feel like it is going to require some extreme UN-logic to unseat them from their positions---
Like going to the Nth power of unreasonable reaction to see if they Original Poster will try to return to some sort of "Societal Normality"- thus disproving their case.
I believe that Ray and Darby try to do the very same thing but with their own methods.
I prefer to see other people trip them when I am continually forcing them into a "box".
This last case with Lyn was the perfect example...
When the Original Poster slides through these things with a fluid type action/ we got a real player on our hands.
(I still say we use the original quiz Idea, but what the hell)

Not true. A vote for Obama if you are less than middle class is less taxes. If you are upper class and wealthy then of course you may end up paying more taxes. Obama would do no worse than Jimmy Carter.

Exactly what some of us who lived thru Carter are afraid of! 15% interest rates? 10% unemployment? Rampant inflation? Carter was bad enough. We do not need to revisit his failed policies, but that is what Obama is promising.

The opening post of this thread is so obviously a hoax that I almost have to stifle a yawn.
It is simply not the sort of thing a genuine time traveller would post.
A TRUE time traveller would first establish their credentials. After all, especially if you have gone to all the bother of travelling back to save the world.......you'd want people to KNOW in no uncertain terms that you were genuine. You would not want those pesky 'fat nerd sceptics' ( referred to in another thread ) spoiling the show with a mere 'lol !'.
Also, howcome this time traveller.....other than claiming nuclear war....cannot tell us a single Obama policy already implemented ? Howcome he cannot even tell us ( just as a little proof of time travel ) that Obama swatted a fly live on TV ? Or how about a pic of Obama meeting the Apollo 11 astronauts ?

Yep, you are catching on. Darby coined the acronym "OETW" for "One Every Two Weeks" because for awhile that was the frequency at which new self-proclaimed TTers would show up. If you REALLY want eat-your-hat entertainment, you need to go looking for the infamous TTer "Chronohistorian". Oh you will get several laughs out of him.

It's just a pity someone genuine can't show up. Given the ( hopefully ) long time mankind has ahead....if time travel is ever a reality, I'd expect something by now.

Why do people always think that someone must travel in time to "save the world"? It's a little like sailing. Some people are in the navy, sure, but far more people drive boats for recreation. Is that hard to understand? So much more scenery can be enjoyed with time travel. You don't need to "establish credentials" if you're a tourist, now do you?
The sad truth is that people of this era are simply not worth it. The education system is horrible, real scientific advancement has stalled, economies have collapsed, crime is rampant, and the highest aspiration apparent in society is the attainment of the attention of others. A time traveler would avoid this era just as one would avoid the slums of any city.

I try not to visit that site too often.
At least here - there's not only the 'overly incredible' but actual rational minds sharing ideas about every subject from Science to general philosophies. (There's an actual chance of learning something here from some of the accredited people that visit often).
Godlike Productions seems to have everyone from the extremely vulgar to the mentally unstable.
My own rule of thumb that diverts from digesting too much there is 'if you get too deep, you'll drown' (referring to the mind being exposed to 'nutters of course).
I think the last time I actually went there was when the mainstream news had very weird reports about that 'fireball' caught on tape over Texas during broad daylight, and then some mainstream news reporting a 'cylinder' found in a field.
MSNBC had a picture of it on a story right when the joggers being camcorded was shown in the news with the 'fireball'
If you can find any of those mainstream news stories that had a picture of the cylinder laying in the field now, good luck to you.
I had shown a few people the news story when it broke and the picture because I had a feeling it would be pulled.
Remember the debate over whether the cylinder was from the satellite collision, and most scientists laughed saying it would burn up ?
I'd rather believe it was a Govt' or private corp. testing something, then I can understand why it's so strange and we'll not know for a long time.
The SR-71 would have looked like a UFO back in the early 1960's when it was shaped like that and flying at that speed.
After all, there was nothing to really compare it to when it was a prototype I'd imagine.
If they couldn't show the cockpit when it was just being retired twenty years ago - I rather doubt they'd show the prototype itself 20 - 30 years before that.
