TTI now uses SSL

We've had this for a while on the main page (Time Travel Institute | Tempus edax rerum), but SSL is now enabled on the forum domain as well.

This means two things:

  1. The communication between you and us is encrypted. Anything you do on the website can be seen only by you and the site, so nobody can eavesdrop on anything you transmit.

  2. It verifies the identity of the site you've connected to. When you connect to TTI using a non-secured connection, you can't be certain it's not a website that just pretends to be us (for example if you connect to the site through a public WiFi, there could be some malicious software on the WiFi router which does that). However, if the site uses SSL, your browser is sent a digital certificate that verifies our identity, and you can be sure it's us.

SSL has also become the standard, and there's no reason NOT to do it.

Enjoy your new secure forums :)
