Titor - Logically flawed

The parallels between the Titor story and the Terminator movies are obviously evident. For example, 3 billion die in a nuclear war, John is the name of the leader of the human resistance, and the letters from the word "Terminator" can spell "Titor."

There are obvious logical flaws in his story. For example, if he can't return to his original world line then what is the point of going on the mission in the first place?

P.s - Only the gullible or extremely time-travel-hungry still believe Titor's tale.

He made up the name to "fit in" better. John is generic and Titor is short for "Time Traveler OR not?"?
 
Actually I think he called himself John Titor because of the name of one of the creators of the IBM 5100(The portable computer he was looking for) whos name was/is John Titus.

Some time ago we did consider Jon Titus as a possible source for the name John Titor. Though Jon didn't work on the IBM-5100 he did release his Mark-8 8008 based PC kit at about the same time (in 1975) that IBM released the 5100.

It could have some validity. Jon is "the father" of the home PC.

My fellow humans In less than 9 months the first signs of the civil war will rear its head.
I have come back not for a computer this time.
I came back without authorazation and at the risk of being court marshaled and imprisoned.
But in the year 2038 the year I left something awful was happening. And it was due to the civil war and the nuclear warheads. I have only a month to inform a selected few on what to do to stop this civil war. It has to be done but I can not do it. They will come after me. The military they will find me with the help of the invaders. But I have to do this. The fate of all of Earth depends on it. What is happening now makes all before the civil war, nuclear strikes, starvation look like childs play. I will say this the military and new government are behind this. They have let the invaders who
announced there present to the world take full control. There technology knows no limits.
Something must be done or every human being will be extinct within 2 years.
