Time Travel

How do you think Extraterrestrials can travel through time and log incidents from history how would it be done?
 
Assuming ET time travellers visited Earth, and than decided to leave this log of knowledge, it would most likely be in a time capsule (no pun intended) that will contain a 'history' of our future. I read somewhere there's some kind of vault beneath the Sphinx. Maybe that's it.
 
They would have to pick a place that would not change much over time. such as in a cave or in a mountain......and set up the device there. somewhere hidden.
