Time Travel

The first thing I'd do (after all test travels) would be very selfish, but I don't think there'd be a single person who wouldn't do it.
If you haven't guessed it already: I'd get the lottery numbers.^^

That would be a pretty good start. It would free me from all fincancial shackles and I wouldn't have to worry about material things anymore.
This in turn would give me all the freedom to do what I truly aspire.
And especially it would give me more time (pun intended).

that is boring.

you go and sort out your debt problems or seek debt counselling. You do not need time travel for that.

I believe money is very wrong reason for time travel.

if exploring as a historian or seek what happens in previous history story such as Kings and Queen would be better reason?

I didn't say the lottery would be my REASON for time travelling, it "merely" would be the first thing I'd do to free me of any material worries.
THEN I'd do all the other stuff with it.

And if you find that having been freed from any material worries is boring that's ok, but why do you assume I have debts? It's pretty biased to assume this.

Time travel were develop to study events that had happen in the past. That have been lost to history and not been recorded in books.

that is boring.

Whoa, big fella. You asked the question and he gave an honest answer. If you had an agenda you should have stated it up front rather than baiting a trap and jumping the Member who happened to respond in a manner other than what you wanted.

And share the $28 million jackpot with 28 million other time travellers !

That's true, but in my scenario only I can time travel. :P

Unforunately this is a VERY unlikely scenario. I mean, I have not the faintest idea how to build one, so how on earth should I come into the posession of one?
Apart from that though I hope time travel is never invented, or else the human species really is doomed. Needs just one crazy nut with such a machine.

Then again, if the many worlds theory would be correct, then it wouldn't necessarily have to be that way. Still got to steal myself that machine though, because I'm lacking the skills to build one.^^

Please state the reasons why you are interested to become time traveller?
Why ? Good reasons? Bad Reasons?

There always is the possibility that one might begin with good intention's, and when the ability is achieved, the intention changes.

I like to think that IF I was able to travel through time, it would be my intention to witness historical events, save historical manuscripts and texts ( i.e., before the library at Alexandria got all burnt up ), and answer some personal questions regarding certain mysteries.

However, this is what I am thinking without actually being able to travel through time.

IF I discovered that I actually could travel through time, there would certainly be some desire of ill-intent that would come to mind, as well. I would like to believe that I wouldn't want to go back through time and whomp a childhood bully. However, it would be extremely hard to resist the temptation to give the bully a surprise whomping that I feel he deserves.

OR

IF an event occurs that hit's a nerve, such as a child abduction and crime, would the temptation to travel back in time and try to prevent the crime become too much ? And if one begins to administer justice, where does one draw the line with what would be appropriate AS justice ?

It might have been a time traveler who caused the fire.

The first rule of time travel is: first do no harm. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would go back to save individuals from tragedy. The lottery would be a temptation, but if I thought it would mess up my first intention, then I wouldn't think about it again.

Haven't you seen the shows that tell about the tragedy that winning the lottery brings to so many who win? I think the people who want to win so bad are the ones who suffer the most when they do. It's an irony that money has to not be important to you so you aren't ruined by having a large sum thrust upon you. Money being power, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

Hubby buys the tickets and I shake my head and say if he would put that $2 a week into savings for the last 25 years we would have a nice nest egg!
