Time travel messaging

Temporal Novice
A new member so if this as been discussed I apologie in advance.
Seems to me it would be first attempted to send a message back thru time with light.
May be easier to try to boost the speed of light itself first and make a machine that could receive these light signals.
I would think the moment a machine was succesfully made,you'd be receiving a call.
Possible?
Would that not be a good start place?
What are your thoughts on this?
 
Sounds logical, if anything could go the speed of light, it's light, and information could be carried using light, it's doubtful that physical bodies could go beyond this boundry but information seems more plausible. I wouldn't doubt experiments similar to this are being considered.
