Time Travel Machine For Sale on eBay

Nice link... very interesting, I found the letters most interesting. The machine is no doubt a joke, I mean the thing looks like a small fridge or toaster! Hardly what I would expect out of 2239 or whenever. Wish I could get a look at the inside though, see what makes it tick...

Very interesting,

But it is not the time machine that is interesting. It is the "poem". It immediately sounded familiar to me so I did a search, and sure enough, it was identical. It may only be a copy written down for future reference, but the original was written (also by hand) around 1850 or so. It was reprinted in 1922. The author was a woman named Ellen G. White and she was a founder of the Seventh Day Adventist church. She was relating a vision she had received. I've included the whole chapter of which the "poem" was the ending. She excited a great deal of interest in that timeperiod, and it is doubly interesting that she was later to be shown as having a great deal of unusual insight on medical problems and their treatment a full 150 years before her time. Much of what she pointed out was only "rediscovered" over a century later. It is even more remarkable that she only had a 3rd grade education and was "afflicted" with health problems as a result of an accident in early childhood that left her somewhat debilitated. In spite of that, she traveled the entire world in a time when there was no rapid transportation, and established sanitariums, hospitals, schools, colleges and churches everywhere she went. Now wouldn't it be VERY interesting if she may have been connected with the "time machine". It certainly would go a long way in explaining how she could have had such an extensive knowledge of health principles and warning against the "future" danger of meat and dairy products. She was called a woman "out of her time". Maybe there's more truth to that than meets the eye. For those interested, the link is:

I have seen the tender love that God has for His people, and it is very great. I saw angels over the saints with their wings spread about them. Each saint had an attending angel. If the saints wept through discouragement, or were in danger, the angels that ever attended them would fly quickly upward to carry the tidings, and the angels in the city would cease to sing. Then Jesus would commission another angel to descend to encourage, watch over, and try to keep them from going out of the narrow path; but if they did not take heed to the watchful care of these angels, and would not be comforted by them, but continued to go astray, the angels would look sad and weep. They would bear the tidings upward, and all the angels in the city would weep, and then with a loud voice say, "Amen." But if the saints fixed their eyes upon the prize before them, and glorified God by praising Him, then the angels would bear the glad tidings to the city, and the angels in the city would touch their golden harps and sing with a loud voice, "Alleluia!" and the heavenly arches would ring with their lovely songs. {CET 97.1}

There is perfect order and harmony in the holy city. All the angels that are commissioned to visit the earth hold a golden card, which they present to the angels at the gates of the city as they pass in and out. Heaven is a good place. I long to be there, and behold my lovely Jesus, who gave His life for me, and be changed into His glorious image. Oh, for language to express the glory of the bright world to come! I thirst for the living streams that make glad the city of our God. {CET 97.2}

The Lord has given me a view of other worlds. Wings were given me, and an angel attended me from

the city to a place that was bright and glorious. The grass of the place was living green, and the birds there warbled a sweet song. The inhabitants of the place were of all sizes; they were noble, majestic, and lovely. They bore the express image of Jesus, and their countenances beamed with holy joy, expressive of the freedom and happiness of the place. I asked one of them why they were so much more lovely than those on the earth. The reply was, "We have lived in strict obedience to the commandments of God, and have not fallen by disobedience, like those on the earth." {CET 97.3}

Then I saw two trees. One looked much like the tree of life in the city. The fruit of both looked beautiful, but of one they could not eat. They had power to eat of both, but were forbidden to eat of one. Then my attending angel said to me, "None in this place have tasted of the forbidden tree; but if they should eat, they would fall." {CET 98.1}

Then I was taken to a world which had seven moons. There I saw good old Enoch, who had been translated.

On his right arm he bore a glorious palm, and on each leaf was written "Victory." Around his head was a dazzling white wreath, and leaves on the wreath, and in the middle of each leaf was written "Purity," and around the wreath were stones of various colors, that shone brighter than the stars, and cast a reflection upon the letters and magnified them. On the back part of his head was a bow that confined the wreath, and upon the bow was written "Holiness." Above the wreath was a lovely crown that shone brighter than the sun. I asked him if this was the place he was taken to from the earth. He said, "It is not; the city is my home, and I have come to visit this place." He moved about the place as if perfectly at home. I begged of my attending angel to let me remain in that place. I could not bear the thought of coming back to this dark world again. Then the angel said, "You must go back, and if you are faithful, you, with the 144,000, shall have the privilege of visiting all the worlds and viewing the handiwork of God." {CET 98.2}

It does look interesting, and I agree with you Ren, it would be fantastic to study the device more closely.
The thing that puzzles me, is what happened to digital technology? This is the second device I have seen from "The Future" and they both have run-of-the-mill controls and gauges. I would have imagined LED readouts with touch pad type buttons, maybe even some type of holographic control/read-out system.

Ovrlord,

I must say the previous post before yours seemed, somehow, out of place. Like, could I either Suck up to MOP any more, or could I possibly BE in on the hoax of this alleged time machine anymore than this. to have so much information about this Auction on ebay? lol.

But, I do agree. Its not just what I "Envision" as future technology, its what I've seen. look at a 1950's car compared to now. sleeker, more refined, smooth, faster, etc etc. I would expect some type of audio/visual format or at least touchpad/touchscreen controls no more complicated than "Set Date, Month/Day/Year/ Hour/Minute/Second /GPS Coordinates?" etc.

not "Dial a knob 350degree farenheight actually means November 5th 1955"

I will always admit I am quick to judgement, but its not really a judgement its an opinion just based on what I think is probable/possible and at this point I would say its highly unlikely. Even the fake time machine a few months ago or the Playstation time machine seemed a Little more probable than this Toaster.

Ren,

What irks you the most, the fact that the "letter" you found "interesting" turned out to be a religious document and caught you unawares, or is it about me posting it? It certainly does seem like you jump to judgements very quickly. You're response sounds like something that should be on a conspiracy forum. Are you implying that Mop and I have a collusion going on this? As far as I can recall, I don't believe I have ever had addressed Mop directly on this forum, and this time was no different.

It is certainly considered "good manners" to address someone directly if you have a problem or disagree. It shows a bit of "cowardice" on your part, and quite frankly, is the kind of behavior I would consider from a troll. I believe I have called you out once before about being a bit callous--especially with a first-time poster. As to the post being "out of place", that is the entire point of it to begin with. Obviously, you did not see the point of it, and perhaps your quick judgement prevents you from "seeing" other points as well. If you'll notice, I never passed on any judgement except to mention the irony of the situation. I left that judgement to the reader. It is quite clear what your judgement was. You can be assured I will remember it in the future--in every sense of the word.

Zerub-babel (interesting name by the way with babel in there and all that).

Giving you a hard time, you didn't catch the lol at the end of that? =) I'll throw in a wink next time so you're sure... After that first paragraph I wrote everything was true though, I think this is probably just a toaster, I would have expected more of a digital rather than analog interface. and, I was giving ya a hard time cuz, well, thats what I do. You reacted very well. Not that there is a specific way TO act, just that, if you thought I was serious you handled it fairly maturely...

So, who's going to bid on this "Time Machine" so we can dissect it!

It will also be interesting to monitor the sale of the " Time Machine ". If it brings in alot of cash, I think I am going to begin "a search" around my house for any time machines.
Those old VHS players stacked up in the closet...? I knew saving them would come in handy one day.

You have to come up with a good story about how you "Found" the time machine at a garage sale underneath a pile of old clothing and immediately knew what it was. Then make sure to include lots of "Spare parts" and "Wires" hanging around, with a couple of knobs for show. Maybe some yellow/black tape and a thermometer would make it look more official.lol

Looks to me like someone with an engraving machine got a little creative, the letters and photo are a nice touch but you can pick random old letters and random old photos at any garage sale, at least they could've made an old mock photo with the time machine in it.

OvrLrd,

It really is possible to envision a future where digital technology is non-existent if we consider the massive devastation of thousands of Electro-magnetic pulses taking out not only all the devices that depend upon it, but also the entire infrastructure that creates the devices. If we look back just a few decades, we could have held the first atom smasher in the palm of our hand--and it looked like a toy. The huge super-colliders of today encompass miles, yet the technology is based on the same basic principles, utilizing the power of computer chips. I would assume the great technology of the future would have to rely on far-more basic means to approximate the level of technology available before the EMP. Even the old automobiles of pre-chip days would figure in very nicely as they would become the cars of the "future".

As to John Titor's device, a more than just-plausible case could be made as to the logical design of a time machine from the ashes of an extinct technology. If you place the picture of Titor's machine alongside a picture cutaway of the Omega inertial confinement "fusion reactor) at Lawrence Livermore Labs, there is an eerie similarity. Of course, the Omega utilizes lasers that are close to four feet square, and home-grown crystal nearly the size of a man all focused on a square centimeter to fuse the matter and create a sustaining "clean" energy. However, the problem lies in keeping the matter together. Under perfect conditions, whatever space that remains under these super-compressed conditions could very well create a Kerr ring. Now, to me, taking into account non-locality; the very existence of a Kerr ring would demand the existence of another one in entanglement--in turn entangled with other non-local "points". The "appearance" of old-fashioned design actually gives more credence to the Titor story than detracts. Its "plausible".

Now a third element of "eerie" similarity. The author of that "poem" mentioned before, had much to say about "nature", (meaning science) and often alluded to scientific understanding regarding the Old Testament Sanctuary. Remarkably, its design is strikingly similar to both Titor's machine and the Omega machine. Now you can perhaps understand why I responded so quickly to Mop's post. The syncronicity was just too delicious. I must admit I dismissed Titor out of hand from day one. However, I have taken notice of the great interest it has evoked, and try to learn why (from a sociological point of view if nothing else) it has moved people in so many ways. There are other connections I've made along the way, but I guess I've "babel"(ed) enough.

If this was the case, then how would time travel then be possible, since most of the theories seem to revolve around the manipulation of Electro-magnetic energy?

And even if the technology was of primitive components, the device seen in the link in this thread still doesn't measure up to what I envision a time machine to look like. The poem was probably created in memorium for whoever actually plugged that thing into an electrical socket.

I always respect your postings, and did find the MOP's link to be facsinating. With regards the poem, I did enjoy what you posted immensly. You have an excellent grasp on the esoteric, and the meanings behind 'the veil'.

The only objection I was touching on was that I just dont see the possibility of this machine being a time machine.

I never saw nor connected your name with babbling. As a matter of fact, I made the connnection of your screen name.."ZERUBBABEL " ..as the lineal descendant of Nathan the son of David. ( or should I say Zorobabbel? )
