Consider Chess
A particular sequence will yield the desired outcome...i.e Check mate.
A number of variations may (or may not) exist which will yield a similar outcome.
NOTE: Special cases arse, within which, only a certianorder of moves will yield the desired outcome. CALL THIS SPECIAL CASE - TIME!!!

At the risk of appearing somewhat dense, I must say I have no idea what your point is! I also play Chess, and I understand the game fairly well, but I don't see the connection between these "special cases" that will yield the desired outcome (i.e., checkmate) and TIME!

I believe that if time really does exist, it necessarily must exist in an infinite number of domains or time-lines. It would not have a finite number of "special cases" as stated in your message (if I understand you correctly).

We humans also don't know if time is "analog" or "digital". i.e., Does it flow smoothly like water through a hose, or is it made up of a series of descrete blips, not unlike the sequential frames of movie film (the time period of each "frame" has been estimated at 10^-43 sec!)?

Well, it's anybody's guess. I don't think we will EVER know!
