The Unemployment Rate - Conspiracy

What most do not understand is that those who leave the unemployment issurance roles or those who do not apply for unemployment are NOT COUNTED by the Dept of Labor.

That America based on population growth needs 250K jobs created a month

That the Unemployment Rate should be crossed with Social Security so that those not contributing to SSI are counted as "umemployed"

That the rate really tells the "Rate of Job Loss" in an economy that is not producing jobs to match population growth.

Would this change with Democratic leadership? Doubtful... Because once the REAL RATE is published the Republicans would bounce on them for increased unemployment numbers.

That fall in housing sales is more related to unemployment than anyone would want you to believe...

Lets look at Today's Headlines....

Weekly jobless claims climb by 12,000 to 321,000

WASHINGTON - Considerably more newly laid-off workers signed up for unemployment benefits last week, although the figures suggest the job market remains stable even as a housing slump afflicts the economy.

The Labor Department reported Wednesday that new applications filed for the work week ending Nov. 18, rose by a seasonally adjusted 12,000 to 321,000. The increase was bigger than many economists were expecting. They were forecasting new claims to clock in at about 310,000.

White House lowers economic projections

WASHINGTON - The White House on Tuesday lowered its forecast for economic growth this year and next, reflecting the drag from the housing slump.

Even with the downgrade, the Bush administration is predicting that the unemployment rate will turn out to be slightly lower than previously thought.

Under the administration's new forecast, gross domestic product will grow by 3.1 percent, as measured from the fourth quarter of last year to the fourth quarter of this year. That's down considerably from a projection of 3.6 percent in early June.

Still, the new forecast would represent decent growth, especially given the strain on overall economic activity from the housing slump, and would match last year's performance.

"The housing market ... it has been hit, I think, harder than most of us had expected. Most forecasters were expecting a slower decline," Edward Lazear, chairman of the White House's Council of Economic Advisers, told reporters. The economy is weathering that housing slump fairly well and is in "really good shape," he said.

Trade Deficit, Illegal Immigration, Outsourcing and Unemployment are KILLING AMERICA and is in TERRIBLE SHAPE contrary to what the White House and economists would have you think. It is a bunch of bunk.
