The TRUTH about Jimmy Earth

Jimmy_Earth

Chrono Cadet
My name is Bijhan, and I'm a student at Seattle Central Community College. I write a lot of fiction, and am working at a musical career. The name "Jimmy Earth" came from a stage name I toyed around with.

I was born in Seattle, Washington in 1989. My father is an Iranian immigrant and my mother was from East Wenatchee. They met as my father fled the Islamic Revolution in the 1970s.

When I heard about John Titor, I was absolutely tickled pink that anyone would be so gullible. I wanted to see how gullible anyone here was. To be perfectly honest, I am absolutely impressed with a lot of your skepticism. I tried to make my story progressively crazier and the character of Jimmy Earth progressively more hostile to see how long it would last. Jmpet was pretty much spot-on with his timing.

Although, Jmpet, I still believe that although your attempt was in earnest, many of the "flaws" you attempted to point out were nonexistant. However you cornered me with that planetary core thing. I know jack sh!t about astronomy and geology. I was struggling at the end.

In the end, I'm impressed with the level of skepticism here, although there are a few examples of absolute nutters here. For instance, anyone who really believes the Annukai exist should probably be locked up.

Thanks for proving me wrong in my cynical assertion of this place, and for letting me sharpen my improv skills. Now I know what to stay away from when writing.

Sorry if I insulted anyone - but such was the character I was writing for.

>Although, Jmpet, I still believe that although your attempt was in earnest, many of the "flaws" you attempted to point out were nonexistant.<

I know that, that's how debunking works. It's not important to present a valid argument per se as much as continually nit-pick what other people say. This makes people second guess themselves, which usually makes them trip up. In the same regard, I knew my crediting Jose for the story would invariably bring out the real cuplrit, and here you are, Bijhan.

wow.
you have a million times more respect from me now for actually being honest.
you did excellent in the beggining and was believable...up until you started in with the outer space stuff. by the way, were you reading out of a book at the end?
i like to read the stories, and the responses, really tells me alot. i would suggest taking a course in psychology.(if you havent already) sometimes its better to control a story, than to tell it :D
bet titor majored in psychology

What a shame... /ttiforum/images/graemlins/cry.gif But you are still my favourite time traveller on this forum! As Ruthless stated, you were the most believable of all (until the furry blue thingies). And you know how to tell stories.
I nearly regret that you revealed the truth. Why not continuing your story in the fanfiction section?

And by the way I did not really find you aggressive. (do I count as a "nutter"?)

You did handle your story to the point very well mr 'Jimmy Earth'. I'm glad you opened up and talked about it - though you could have gone far longer, if you would have kept it out from the 'fantasy'. I know from the experience, that it's a very difficult to write a very-believable story. There is always going to be a sceptical mind(s), which find it (your story) doubtful and they will ask most of the questions. <sarcasm> I hope you got your kicks out from it </sarcasm>

The one thing what most of the time travellers forget, is that they go nasty when the people ask the questions. Think about it: If you're going to write about it from the first person point-of-view, then you have to have those real 'experiences', 'thoughts', 'tastes/smells/feels etc.' and stick to them.

Has anyone created a hoax from the third person angle. Has anyone experienced those sort of things?

This is the most extravagant idea but what is the ripple effect going to be if you do that sort of thing. Is there going to be the conspiracy theorists, and secret government agencies studying the TTs? <sarcasm> Is there already a government organisation for studying the 'TT-files'?</sarcasm>

If you're going to do another hoax, then you have to practise on things what the real time traveller would have experienced, because those things make your 'story' better - maybe not ultra believable.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the story. Like I said, I am a serious fiction writer, and I consider my basis hardcore sci-fi - alien empires and whatnot - although my best works have been in character-based stories, a few sci-fi but mostly semi-real world. I've thusfar completed a full novella and several short stories, but I have yet to find the story that compels me to complete novel. Although none to date actually deal with time travel, would anyone be interested in me posting a few works? I am putting the finishing touches on a short story set in a nondescript future time that I'll be submitting to a national literary contest.
