Guys, I had no idea such a thing existed. How cool is that? 

This really sound like something from the future but that actually "exists" today. Pretty fun stuff to read and know about. 

I wonder if this could/will be used by time travelers to help with their trips?

I recall news (somewhere) mentioning that they found magnetic pathways to the sun, but I didn't know they actually had a name for these pathways. Your link says, " They were first investigated by Jules-Henri Poincaré in the 1890s ", which means they aren't even new discoveries, however, I realize this isn't exactly the same thing.  Similar thought...
