The future is the past, the past is the future?

For some reason this idea just popped into my mind while watching ancient aliens because they've talked about how aliens could be us from the future, coming back in time. My idea is that time is a loop, meaning that the past is also our future, and the future is our past. If aliens in the future are us coming back in time, with my idea, doesn't that mean that they're also our ancestors? They are what we become, but also what we evolved from? I'm crazy, right?
