The Brain

The Brain and nervous system could be considered a biological computer of sorts, capable of complex forward predictions about circumstances and outcomes, before it interacts with its environment.

Discuss.

I agree with this statement. Even medical professionals and my biological textbooks (that I have used previously in my formal education) have compared the brain and the central nervous system to being a biological computer.

I believe that the brain and central nervous system are capable of doing complex predictions about the outcomes or probabilities of select outcomes of any given situation. I do not believe that this is something that everyone does or knows how to do, though Personally, I do this but part of it is, I think, from being a survivor of various situations. I am NOT saying that you can only do this if you have been a victim or survivor, but this is when I really started noticing all of my surroundings and probable outcomes of my situation.

Is this the complex forward predictions that you are speaking of or did you more mean like you are able to predict the future based on the circumstances and rapid statistical analysis?

Where would intuition fit? I.E.,Why is it sometimes, walking down a trail and had planned on taking the right path at a fork, but for some reason, get an ominous feeling and decide to go left. Someone else goes right and gets bitten by a rattlesnake. How did we know danger was there?

I think, therefore i am.

I have always thought the human body reminded me of a computer.

Hard drive (long term memory)

Ram( able to do only so many things)

Cpu (brain)

Video card ( eyes)

Sound card ( ears)

It goes deeper and deeper, but you get the point. :)

I think that intuition is a secondary (or primary depending how you look at it) level of complexity to it. I do believe that it play a part in the whole concept though too.
For example, intuition might be what most individuals think that they have. They have a "gut reaction" for whatever reason. I think that once people then hone in on the fact that they can "predict" outcomes and probabilities of an outcome, they then are able to have more of the complex forward predictions that was originally mentioned.

We predict the future all the time. Whenever we are presented with a challenge we know the impossibilities and most often create plans that will complete the task to a high degree of accuracy. We take it for granted, but problem solving is not easy.

I believe intuition can "make or break" a person, based on their perspective at the time. I truly believe anything can be predicted, with the right perspective and enough information to make an educated guess.

Wow, you guys are good! There are a few things that got my attention in this subject and one was the construction of the star child skull. It seems to have reddish color channels running inside the skull bone that may indicate antennae. If the brain had a higher electrical charge able to transmit frequency signals with the aid of fine conductors from within the skull structure, that could explain how aliens may communicate telepathically. Now if humans could alter our human DNA to enhance our electrical energy we may also become telepathic?
