Tattoos and time travellers?

Should time travellers have tattoos or not? I mean is it okay for a time traveller to have a tattoo or would he just get into more trouble by being identified with a tattoo?
 
I don't know about other time travelers, but I personally don't have any tattoos. For a liar like me, tattoos are taboo.

John Titor and all of his buddies have tattoos. I couldn't help but remember that scene from "Rogue Trooper".
 
I'm also a liar and lie to myself frequently. I don't have tattoos yet but was wondering if I should get one. Probably best not to have one if one gets into trouble time travelling.
 
If a time traveler wants to be as inscospicous as he could get, tattoos are not a good idea. Tattoos tend to identify customs, likes, and cultural thought constricted to a particular time. Thus they might endanger a group of time travelers. Imagine going back in time to the Middle Ages sporting a brand new blood dropping chain around your wrist. The Church would have a blast. The same holds true for future traveling, in which the traveler knows nothing about the culture he/she will be encountering.

So my honest opinion is to refrain from getting tattoos if you are planning to be hopping on a timeship soon! You could get the removable (temporary) ones, no one will know!
