The chances of the symbol representing a helicopter are remote, I agree. However, the rest of the carvings should have some meaning. The photo is only one segment of an entire "section". ( of which I havent seen, nor is offered on that site )
So what it says in its entirety isnt represented in that site. Of course, the that particular site is slanted towards the esoteric and unusual. So, once again I agree that the carvings are not of any aircraft at all. I also would imagine those plane looking carvings could be a ( I wont spell it right, but...) Sarcophogus.
But I would hesitate to claim those we dont understand to be gibberish. Alot of time and effort goes into carving those things into the rock, so I dont see the 'artist' putting anything in there that would be considered as such.
There is so much that was lost regarding the ancient sturctures, it does make for an interesting puzzle. Even with our modern technology, there are still many unanswered questions. From what I can gather, the pyramid structures are more widespread than first believed.
The communication between cultures was probably more extensive than we realize. When we hear of pyramids, we think of Eygpt and South America, but there are also many structures on the North American Continent as well. There are some folks that believe they have found some in Europe as well.
I dont know if you have read about the Eygptian Temple found in the Grand Canyon, but that also has some unanswered questions surrounding it as well.
I have a firm belief that the ancient cultures did send out ships to explore their world. Many probably never returned home, and the data regarding their expeditions lost in time.
We did a research project in the Mojave Desert on petroglyphs, finding them and cataloging them to preserve what was done by people approx. 15,000 years ago. Vandalism has destroyed many of the petroglyphs.

I was there in 1979. Some glyphs are easy to figure out...some are not. I suggested that maybe some were the passage of adolesence into manhood, the individual sent out into the wilderness and to recorded his journey upon the rocks for others to see.
The area at the time the petroglyphs were done was not the desert as we see it today, but a forest with plenty of water. We found all kinds of petrified wood and rements of their ancient encampments.
Many of the petroglyphs are very interesting, and what they may mean would be fantastic to figure. Such as the circle with a line drawn through it, one side with a tear within it. And their carvings of triangles was extenisve. I found one boulder with dozens of petroglyphs its face, one looked like a pyramid...triangles all hooked together creating one large pyramid shaped picture.
