Absolutely cheesy name for a military branch, but it's still kind of cool in a Toy Story / House of Cards kind of way.

Air, Space, Marine..... If Space Force is cheesy, then so is Air Force. It covers an objective, secure space and secure the country via space.

 
Maybe they should have went with the Star Trek theme...and called it Starfleet Command..?

I bet they wished they could, but they didn't because of copyright issues.

Their DoJ strongarm isn't powerful enough yet to override copyright laws, so they make knockoffs instead.

I like the references to Toy Story and Star Trek too. Something about the subconscious collective of our pop culture experiences stored in perpetuity that is very curious to me. My question is: what happened that all of a sudden there is a immediate need to create another branch of the armed forces? What are “they” not telling the public that is more of a “threat” now? Is it because of mass hysteria and chaos? Why the rush to start mining out in space? The powers that be choose not to disclose our contact because of that knowledge keeps them in that position of control. If only we knew the secrets of time manipulation, wormholes, DNA evolution and possible eternal life. Who would be allowed to access that process? Only the rich and elite?
