As many of you regulars may have noticed, we suffered a prolonged and catastrophic server outage over the past 24 hours. I am deeply humiliated by this problem and cannot apologize enough. I appreciate the fact that you have chosen to visit the Time Travel Institute and made this your choice for all time travel related discussions. We welcome your patronage of our site and hope that this outage has not discouraged you from visiting in the future (or past, for that matter...)

We now believe that our server has completely recovered and do not foresee any further failures. Again, I apologize for the outage and hope to prevent such occurrences from happening again.

i think the problem was related to DNS Server..

I suspect recall15 has hit the nail on the head. We made the server transfer when we felt that most domain name servers (DNS) on the Internet reflected the new IP address. It is highly likely that a few persons where still posting to the old server. That server is gone now and, sadly, those posts made during those few hours, are gone as well. It is unfortunate that the critical nature of the outage prevented us from disabling posting to the forums during this time, otherwise we would have done so to prevent such a problem from occurring.

for the slower people, and those that had surgery to remove your sense of humor, that was a joke...

seriously though, i hope the servers ok now. let me know if theres anything i can do to help. life without tti just 'aint living. /ttiforum/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
