Saw This Tonight...

Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later...

I had just enjoyed a picturesque Sunday evening sunset in my backyard here in Huntington Beach, CA. The sunset was so colorful that I even brought my digital camera out to snap a few sunset photos. Here is one that I thought was "epic":

But later this evening, after having my dinner and sipping a beer in the backyard I saw something appear that was VERY different than any of the air traffic I usually see around here that is associated with Long Beach airport and LAX traffic. It was dark out and so it took me awhile to get the right light adjustment so I could see the details of what was coming at me from the east.

It moved toward me from what you see in this picture for a few more seconds, and then it just shot STRAIGHT UP into the celestial sphere!

I can't really analyze this all right now. I am just posting up these pics tonight right after this happened. But I saw something really freaky tonight, that's for sure!

I think you might get more responce if you posted a pic of your time machine. You did mention you were sipping some beer. That UFO in the pic looks like a street light to me.

The small light on the right (clearly attached to a post) is, indeed, a street light. But what is that bright thing up and to the left? That is the thing that came at me and then immediately zoomed upwards.

I just assumed that was the moon. You did say from the east. I did check the following night and the moon is out in that portion of the sky.

In your photograh digitally marked with the date you have "NOV 05 2006" Coincidence?

So a couple of 5% beers, clouds moving in & out of the way from a full
moon could explain your experience.

That and the belief that moon cycles affect behaviour, thus explaining your post?

Well done, gentlemen. The beers did affect me (and perhaps even the full moon) but not in the way you may be inferring. They affected me in such a way as to ask "I wonder who on the forum would be the first one to solve the 'mystery' of this wide-aperture photo?"

I think I should also point out another thing that I was hoping someone would figure out... even though it didn't play into this particular picture.

"Space Ships" regularly fly towards my home from the east (the direction the picture was taken). It is an everyday occurrence. No Big Deal (NBD).

You see, I live directly under an approach path to Long Beach Airport (LGB). Aircraft (Space Ships) are regularly directed onto the flight path which approaches, passes over, and departs from where I was taking that picture.

I could just as easily have provided a still photo with a blurry aircraft image, and claimed it MIGHT BE a UFO!
