Reports of Iraq Election Irregularities!

I just can't understand why the "mainstream" media are not all reporting on this story! It must be a conspiracy!

It seems the exit polls clearly were showing that Ayad Allawi was going to be the clear winner in today's elections. And yet now that the vote count is starting to come in, we are surprised by what seems to be a "clear mandate" victory for..... George W. Bush!?!?!?!

It's GOT to be rigged! Those dirty Republicans stole another one! That could be the ONLY logical explanation, because it should be obvious that a majority of the people of Iraq hate George Bush, right? Sure, he is the man that liberated their country and gave them the first chance to vote in over 30 years, but if the Euros are telling us how much everyone in the world hates George Bush, then that must also be true in Iraq, right?

Hiya and welcome, Dark:

Got to undestand who controls our mainstream media," GOV'T". which is why we'll never hear the truth from the mainstream media.
Ahh, good point! But let me ask you: Is is really Government who controls the mainstream media, or the ORGANIZATIONS who manipulate Government who exerts the control? I maintain the latter, and there is a big difference.

The difference is that you can have people executing the functions of Government who do NOT seek to control the media, just as likely as you can have people in Govt who want badly (with all their heart) to control media. I maintain that there are people in both the Repub AND the Demo parties that act to control the media. As a person who leans Repub, I must say I don't like it when Repubs show up who want to control the media. But at the same time I look at those "hi profile" Dems who obviously want to control the media and think "they should not be able to get away with that!"

It leaves us at a bit of a stalemate, as far as I am concerned. I think the US political system is overripe for having a third, stabilizing political party emerge. To be blatantly corny about it: It is High Time to have a mediating voice between the partisan fights of the Left and the Right. It is my belief that we will see such a 3rd Party emerge in the years between now and the 2008 US Presidential election.

Your thoughts?
