Quantum Teleportation + Time Dilation = data communication time travel

Pink Floyd - "The Final Cut"

through the fish eyed lens of tear stained eyes
i can barely define the shape of this moment in time
and far from flying high in clear blue skies
i'm spiralling down to the hole in the ground where i hide
if you negotiate the minefield in the drive
and beat the dogs and cheat the cold electronic eyes
and if you make it past the shotgun in the hall
dial the combination. open the priesthole
and if i'm in i'll tell you what's behind the wall
there's a kid who had a big hallucination
making love to girls in magazines
he wonders if you're sleeping with your new found faith
could anybody love him
or is it just a crazy dream
and if i show you my dark side
will you still hold me tonight
and if i open my heart to you
and show you my weak side
what would you do
would you sell your story to rolling stone
would you take the children away
and leave me alone
and smile in reassurance
as you whisper down the phone
would you send me packing
or would you take me home
thought i oughta bare my naked feelings
thought i oughta tear the curtain down
i held the blade in trembling hands
prepared to make it but just then the phone rang
i never had the nerve to make the final cut

Very intetesting, but as Darby says, we should read the actual journal. The possibility of quantum teleportation is intriguing but it is still a very long way from actual time travel. Nonetheless, the technology will greatly help the computer development industry of the future. With these advancement we will uncover a new form of storing information, processing it and even sharing it with others. Things will speed up for us and that will help us in new and wonderful ways

Teleportation will hit a great wall in the 23rd century when scientist realize that its not safe for intelligent beings. As you say, even now scientists are starting to ponder that the object being transported its only re-created after the first objects which was utterly disassembled and reduced to "a stream of atoms". In this sense, quantum teleportation will only work for inanimate matter, information and possibly food; which I think might be unnaturalized by the process.

However, scientist should look at Portals and Gates, much more safer and the object its not destroyed but actually spirited across timespace until it reaches the other end. I imagine we could build Kassimir like gates, teleport them far away and then through the twin gate that has been teleported move people across.

Nonetheless, I "predict" that by the 30th century there will be a teleportation-like system. I "predict" it will occur like this, an object its not decomposed into smaller fragments, but actually taken into an adjacent dimension (of which there are up to sixteenth) and from there re-inserted into this dimension once again. The process will be known as D-T (Dimensional Transposition).

I only wish you could see it, in my "prediction" of course.

Your atoms aren't even transported in a stream. You're incinerated at point A and replicated at point B.
In the Star Trek world of the 23rd Century, people are incinerated and replicated.
This has far greater implications than just teleportation and time travel.
Imagine being replicated every time you die so that you can live as long as you want to.
Your very damaged organs will be replicated.

As you suggest, folding time/space A to time/space B is much safer and more practical then the method above for travel of any kind. Teleportation also folds time but it is just a present time to an identical present time. It is essentially an identical universe.

Perhaps we should tell the writer of the next Star Trek movie to depict folding time and space when our heroes go from a ship to a planet. I'm sure some creative ol'chap can come up with something that looks nice and believable.

Data time travel may already be here.
Do you expect the powers that control the devices to hand it over politely... probably not...
You know it's always the last place you look, right in front of your face:)
