POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

As new Moderator, and hopefully one with administrative powers, Roel should use these new found powers to lock a thread that has undoubtably outgrown its welcome. Sure it's the hottest thread on the board at the moment, but it's also a pile of sh!t.

*Cue Star Wars background music*
Roel, feel the dark side. Strike him down and take your place at Raul's side...

<FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="http://www.timetravelinstitute.com/ttiforum/dopoll.php"><INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME="pollname" VALUE="1083768973JamesAnthony">

Should the 2522 thread be locked?
<input type="radio" name="option" value="1" />Oh yes! Please! The madness must end!
<input type="radio" name="option" value="2" />Give him a last chance...
<input type="radio" name="option" value="3" />Doesn't bother me
<input type="radio" name="option" value="4" />No, it's too much fun
<input type="radio" name="option" value="5" />And risk losing the knowledge he has to share with us? No way!! Go Chrono!!
<INPUT TYPE=Submit NAME=Submit VALUE="Submit vote" class="buttons"></form>

For those that think I am being unfair, I am well prepared to stand by people's votes. I'm not going to persuade people how to vote. All comments outside of the poll section are my own opinion.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be lock

I voted for "No, it's too much fun". But then, you could probably have guessed I'd say that, right?

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

Well, dear James, you didn't need to persuade me...I just went ahead and voted, only to realize I was the first one!!!
So, until now, I have the majority of votes!!! /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Then again, if this madness should end, how would some others survive without it?!? So, from a "samaritan" point of view, maybe it should continue....I'm very interested and intrigued to see what the other votes will look like!!!

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

I agree with Trollface, I look forward to Chrono's lame posts every morning now, although the increasing number of "time travellers" to this forum is getting annoying.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

I vote no possibly, but to the discretion of the MOP, on structural grounds.

It may be wise to have the MOP pm Chrono and ask him to continue a new thread of asking and answering questions, as this space that this current session is taking, is considerable.

Have this thread archived for access and then if anyone want to access this thread, then do so.

There might be storage problems once a thread gets so long in length.

Some the theoretical standpoint of view, I feel that the possibilities of free exchange of ideals and thoughts with a being from another time, is fasenaiting.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

Why again?

Certain people love nonsense here, it may help with some of the other nonsense, and time travel as a subject is pure conjecture. That is why there is fun here at the forum! Perhaps, a freaky holiday is in order, and the masses of people do not know it yet!

:D

Next time traveler from another dimension or another whatever, please sign in, and state..........

/ttiforum/images/graemlins/yum.gif

I believe though that this may be the first poll ever conducted here at this forum.

And, as such, some people avoid this heavy discussion, and there is that word again - "heavy"!

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

why? What harm am I doing here? if you do not want to talk in my thread simply don't enter it but leave it for the people that want answers

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

but leave it for the people that want answers
The only problem with this logic, good Chrono, is that you are ill equipped to provide meaningful answers based in scientific fact.

Besides...why do you care? I seem to recall in one of your last posts that you said:

sorry everyone I cannot answer anymore questions, I will try and get around to you later
I guess I was hoping that was your way of graciously backing out of your claims, and leaving here knowing that you had been debunked.

I think you are right JamesAnthony. I've considered ending the thread a couple of days ago, but I was a bit hesitant (hey, I'm new on the job). Although I have to remain objective, I agree that this thread is - in general - a pile of what you said
. Trollface has done an excellent job debunking chronohistorian and I think most of us realized that this was a hoax right from the beginning.

Your poll is the most democratic solution to either end or continue chrono's thread. I will wait until tomorrow 11:00 pm (GMT +01:00) before I view the results and... "unleash my wrath upon this thread".. err... or not /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif. If there are any fans in favor of thread preservation I suggest you start voting now, since it looks like this thread will come to an end tomorrow.

Power to the people!

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

It's not doing any harm, but it's not doing any good either. There have been some people who have suggested to end the thread and I have to say that I can relate to their point of view. The thread is very long and people who visit the board for the first time would have to go through 60 pages. However, since I'm still hesitant I'm willing to give the thread a second chance by waiting for the poll results.

So unless the poll results change OR if you come up with some brilliant post that will prove us all wrong, I'm afraid the thread will end by tomorrow.

Roel

UPDATE! I just noticed that the poll has three choices that allow for the thread to continue: "Give him a last chance...", "No, it's too much fun" and "And risk losing the knowledge he has to share with us? No way!! Go Chrono!!". I will combine the results of these three choices. As I'm typing this the score is as follows: 43% in favor of ending the thread, 31% in favor of continueing the thread and finally 25% who doesn't bother.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be lock

While I'd still miss the thread if it were gone, I do think that it's gone into self-parody in some ways. Still fun, though. I suppose I'm not really torn, I'm enjoying it, but I'm not going to cry myself to sleep if I wake up and it's locked.

BTW, 60 pages? I only see 20 when I view it.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be lock

I FOR ONE WOULD NOT LIKE TO SEE CHRONOS THREAD LOCKED, DON'T THINK IT DOES ANY HARM, HIS COMMENTS ARE JUST AS VALIED AS ANYONE ELSE'S, EVEN IF IT IS A HOAX.

Well, you're allowed to vote... if you want it to stay, please don't hesitate to claim your vote.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I'm actually a timetraveler from the year 3036 when humans have evolved and mutated into creatures with three eyes and triple vision?

But seriously... it depends on your preference /ttiforum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Have no fear that I did. In fact, I thought I was the first, but posted and found Sarah had beaten me to it.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I'm actually a timetraveler from the year 3036 when humans have evolved and mutated into creatures with three eyes and triple vision?

Well, that's good. I thought maybe due to some weird compression factor to do with travel near the speed of light that the thread length had been compressed. From a stationary observer's POV, that is.

Re: POLL on whether Chrono\'s thread should be locked

Chrono posted:
why stop it? what harm is it doing to you? if people don't like it why can't they ignore it?

Why stop it? - As far as I am concerned it is a series of posts from a juvenile trying to undermine people that genuinely enjoy posting here. Not because they expect to meet timetravelers, but to simply talk about ideas to do with time and what it means.

What harm is it doing you? If you are a hoax, then by continuing to post, you are insulting everyone here. What harm is the poll doing to you?

If people don't like it, why can't they ignore it? It is the longest thread on the first page. It's kinda of difficult to ignore. And the only things of interest are posts from memebrs that are nit Chronohistorian. My opinion was that a large thread should be attached to it and let it sink to the bottom.

Chrono, it should be easy for you to prove yourself. You're a time traveller from 500 years into the future. Can you not think of something?

Yes, Roel I put in alot of choices. I didn't want to influence the voting, so I tried to give as much room for opinion as possible. It means that should the highest percentage of people want the thread closed, it's even more definite in nature!
